Does not look like I drew deer that I thought I might. Flat tops wilderness early rifle tag with 8 points.

Hopefully Elk comes through. I applied for a previously OTC tag with 1 point.

Cup, drew archery mule deer units 77, 78, 771. I believe those are in your old stomping grounds. I'd appreciate any advice you may have. Pretty pumped!

A good friend of mine drew the CO moose tag as a non resident with 6 or 7 points a few years ago. It can happen!

Second year in a row I've struck out on drawing Colorado landowner voucher tags for Antelope even with 3 and 4 preference points and 10 applications. I did however receive one muzzleloader antelope tag good in several game units for September 21-29. This does fall during the antelope rut and can be an exciting hunt. If someone has some interest in a guaranteed antelope muzzleloading voucher feel free to contact me.

Well Wyoming was disappointing on the draw. Have a group going this November. Was told antelope is all but guaranteed. Some of us are Mule Deer and Antelope combos. Some are Antelope only. All the combo guys drew for mule deer, but NONE of us drew for antelope. now we have a split decision to make. Sucks.

I hope everyone here is paying attention to the current attack on public lands. It would include millions of wilderness acres used for all types of recreating out west. Not just desert land on city outskirts, as the public was initially led to believe.

Interesting. I am for selling off some public land but this seems quite excessive, probably become a new source of revenue for the crooks missing out on USAID money.

Ok fellow western hunters, I'm in search of some information/intel... I had (disappointingly) resigned myself to the fact that I was not going to be hunting in CO this year due to scheduling issues. Well, my hunting buddy burned some points and drew an archery deer tag in unit 53. I couldn't stand staying at home, so I picked up a elk tag in the 2nd draw.

That said, I've never been in unit 53, nor hunted that far north in CO. Anyone hunted unit 53 or is familiar with the area (Crested Butte on the east, Crawford/Hotchkiss on the west) and willing to give me the low-down?

No. They were there yesterday.

I hunted West of Crested Butte, CO but can't remember if it was 53 or not. We stayed there day before we hit the trail off Hwy 12. Let me check unit number.

I was in 521. Just across the highway from 53. We went in at Irwin Lake Trailhead, I think… sorry I couldn't help more.

Bradmtn, who posts on here, doesn't live far from there and might be able to help.
