I think they've indicated they will keep looking until everyone is found. Unfortunately that is going to be a really tall task to do and I'm sure the number of searchers participating will dwindle as time goes on making it even harder (especially if God forbid Texas has another major disaster this summer). I really feel sorry for people who haven't been able to recover their loved ones yet.

I saw where SAR has quit searching for our volunteer fire chief Mike Phillips in Marble Falls. Was swept away during a rescue.
RIP to a great guy who died helping others as I think he would want it.

That's what made me wonder about it. I know Cile Steward is the only camper still missing, which is awful enough on its own….

And how much more devastating it would be to know people weren't looking anymore.

I keep thinking about this and in that article, she specifically mentions losing her Tecovas boots. I know someone at Tecovas and I was thinking about reaching out to get her (and maybe all the counselors) a new pair. Not sure how it would go about that. seems like a small thing. I could buy her a pair if they couldn't get it approved, but prob not all the counselors.

I'm so damn proud to call the Bellville area my home. The way this town and community has come together for Virginia and her family is what small town life is all about. I know she's up there looking down on us smiling. I can't wait to witness the welcome home she deserves and gets here shortly.

Go to the Bellville PD Facebook page for several short videos of all the first responders in Sequin, Luling, and Flatonia out lining the overpasses for Virginia. Heartbreaking, but very poignant. Got real dusty in my office...

BadAce or Agswin90, could we maybe get a head count on how many camp counselors were at mystic? we can start with a number of folks and I'll craft an email to them on how we can get something arranged. easiest might be gift cards, but I feel like maybe there could be a better strategy.

(my plan is then get a head count, email my contact at tecovas with the number of people we are interested in supporting, see if they suggest any way we could collaborate on providing them with a really special care package or store experience...so that its a little bit more then "heres a card, we don't know your boot size" )

Whew, where do I start?
I've been following since there were only 4 pages. I'm not an Aggie, my entire family is from Lubbock (mom's side) and Hart (dad's side). Born in OKC (don't worry I'm not a Sooner). I work at Disney and live in Orlando, Florida.

What brought me here? My uncle lives in Kerrville and our family text began talking about it. I went to Camp Woldemar for 8 years and was a counselor for 2. In fact I was just there in Hunt picking up MY DAUGHTER, Charlotte, age 8, from short term camp at Waldemar in May. To see this all go down has been gutting me. These girls are my daughter's age!!

My 2 degrees to the Burgess family: my oldest cousin was college besties and was a roadie of Pat Green. Pat reached out to my cousin when I found out.

1 degree to Jan Ragsdale : my aunt and Jan were tennis buddies

Here is my one degree to one of the girls. My cousins went to mystic. My cousin's camp mystic bff is the mother of Virginia. In fact the Hollis family stayed at their home in the early days. So I have been quietly watching you all because we (my entire family) has been leaving my uncle/aunt and cousins alone during this incredibly difficult time. I was getting all updates and proper news from you all on here, and relaying it to my family. These red raiders of mine all appreciated you all.

My cousin is currently on horseback leading a team of horseback riders to recover and clean up. She has found people and brought closure to families! She is a model who travels the world, but put that aside to do this for her community. She found a mystic camper Sunday, I think it was, and it might have been her bff's daughter Virginia. She just saw the shirt on a child's body and didn't get close, just called it into the Sheriff as directed. In my heart, I'm sure it was Virginia. In my eyes my cousin is a hero for leading this horseback crew. Please pray for her team. She is still out there.

We are soooooo happy Virginia was found and watching the communities come together to honor her has made me cry more tears than I thought I had.

I may not be Texan but I was raised by Texans, I visited all the time. I have ties , and although I work at one of the happiest places on Earth, I've been crying daily. My heart is with you all.

I have faith, but my faith got stronger because of people on here like Derm. You amaze me, sir! You all do! BadAce, your daughter … wow! I don't know how she is doing so well.

But has anyone confirmed how Dick Eastland actually passed away? There is a lot of different reports that he died in Houston, but then a lot of reports he was found in a car passed away with the girls. Is it true that he was found with the girls? I hate how bad the reporting is on this whole thing, lots of misinformation.

Early reports suggested he was found alive and then passed away. Not clear what condition he was found in originally or how quickly it happened. Too personal to probe further, just another sad death caused by the flood.

MOTF1 just sent the remainder of their full team to beef them up to a type 1 task force. They're still bringing in assets. They're going to throw everything at it they can for as long as they can. Unfortunately, the task is beyond Herculean. There may be some who are never found.
