I'm looking for opinions on 9mm PCCs.

I have a Hi Point 995 that's a blast to shoot but want something better. I'm considering PSA Ak-v, CZ Scorion EVO 3, Sig MPX, Springfield Kuna, Springfield St Victor, I'd love a H&K SP5 but it's out of my range.

I have owned and shot several PCCs including the EVO on your list but my favorite is the SP5K. I had the H&K but ended up trading it and regretted doing it lol. So I traded for a clone (PTR) and it shoots just the same as the H&K. Shooting it suppressed is awesome.

I love PCCs. I love the form factor, the capacity, the accuracy, the ease of use, the ability to customize, etc. I have A PSA AR-V with the 10.5" barrel. I bought their "Blem" version a couple of years ago for $300 or so, I honestly don't remember. I just love shooting 30 rounds of 9mm. If you have the funds and want something fun, give one a go, you won't regret it. Heck, if you do regret it, you can post it for sale and it would be gone quickly.

I have an AP5 and it's probably the most fun gun to shoot I own. Highly recommend!

If you are going to rely upon your new acquisition to defend you/family, then of the ones you mentioned I would pick the Scorpion. The Scorpion has a very long track record of great reliability. Mags are cheap and easy to find too. The MPX is the most accurate of your list, but it isn't as handy as a braced pistol, and it is pretty expensive too. But also know that there are shorter barrel version of the MPX called the Copperhead and Copperhead K. I'm not sure if they are still in production, but they aren't hard to find. One of these would be a great choice for a defensive weapon, as long as you don't mind the rather high price.

Don't get the Kuna, as it will trap empty cases inside the frame. The Springfield might be fine, but does not have near the track record of the Scorpion.

If however you are just wanting a range gun, then you might consider one of the MP5/SP5 clones. Our HK SP5 is my favorite range gun because of how fun it is to shoot. I've not ever used a clone, but judging by what Bender says about his, they seem to work just fine.

If you will only choose from your list, then pick the AK-v if you want fun, the MPX PCC if you want accuracy (at the expense of weight), the Kuna if you want to lower felt recoil. Personally, I would go with either the Scorpion or the newer Springfield with the shorter barrel.

This is what I want. I bought that Hi Point for a couple hundred to play with & I now want a real one with more capacity.

Appreciate all the comments so far.

I have a .45acp Banshee silenced SBR.
Has an Aimpoint T1 red dot sight, very accurate rifle.
It's my go to hog gun with Gold Dot hollowpoints since most pigs I see are under 50#

If you will entertain other options:

If you want to stay around the $500 price range, look into the Extar EP9. I've not used one, but every single review that I have read/seen has been extremely complimentary. Definitely look into these before you buy anything. Between $500 and $1k, the Springfield Saint Victor pistol w/brace is probably the way I would go. I'm not sure if you can still get the Scorpion pistol in that price range, but given that I never really warmed up to the Scorpion, the Victor is the one that would interest me. You could also consider the Beretta CX-4 Storm 9mm carbine too. These are used by military and police forces, and have proven to be extremely reliable. I've had one for many years, and it has never once failed in any way. The CX-4's design is somewhat dated so they certainly aren't for everyone, but they would never make a bad choice if you want something proven.

Once you go above $1k, there are a great number of great choices. I would look hard at the MKE SP5 clone. The CMMG's look really interesting too, but there is just something about the classic lines of an MP/SP5.

Lastly, in case you didn't know, the Kel-Tec Sub200 now comes in a third generation that folds in a way that allows you to mount a dot sight in the conventional manner. IIRC, these use Glock mags, and of late seem to be pretty reliable. I think they can be had for under $400. Sure, you might need to put a bag over your head if you show up to a public range with one, but IMO they would be a great way to add a range plinker to your gun safe without costing a bunch of money.

No experience with the Kuna or Saint, I've shot the MPX and AK-V and owned a Scorpion (and a Sub2k since its being mentioned as well).

In general, straight blowback 9mms are heavy recoiling compared to other options and suppress poorly. If you don't care about those things, they can be decent options but part of the fun of a range gun to me is something that I'll enjoy shooting, and that women/kids can also enjoy shooting....so I put recoil and how well it runs with a suppressor pretty high on my list of things I care about in a PCC.

The Scorpion made a ton of sense when it was $700. Looks like they're currently going for a little over 1k, which is the same price as an Turkish AP5 (MP5 clone).

Which brings me to my next point: If you want an SP5 but its out of your budget, I strongly recommend the AP5. Yes, it's made by the Turks instead of Germans utilizing Teutonic Space Magic. It's not going to hold value like the SP5, have as nice of a fit and finish as an SP5, and autistic nerds on the internet will sneer at your non German gun.

But I have beat the absolute snot out of my AP5s. Several years of steel challenge matches, a NV run and gun, lots of range time. They run, and run well. They also suppress well, are very soft recoiling thanks to using roller delayed blowback instead of straight blowback, and are a ton of fun.

In your shoes, I'd get an AP5.

For just a range gun, what about the Ruger PCC?

Got this for my wife because she wanted to plink around with more oomphh than her .22. She loves it. It's accurate for her purposes. Comes in plastic or wood stock, also. Am told the mags are interchangeable with the Ruger pistols.

Have you looked at any of the JP Enterprises PCCs like the GMR-15? I like them because of the AR form factor and manual of arms that I'm already very familiar with. They are rock solid, will run well without any user modifications, and I don't know anyone who hasn't found them ultra reliable.

I still shoot a GMR-15, but if you are looking for a roller-delayed option they have this now as well:
[EDIT] https://www.jprifles.com/1.2.18_JP-5.php the price on these seems pretty similar to the HK, which puts it out of your budget range.

Thank you all for the input. I'm leaning towards a Banshee w/ an 8" barrel.

Am I wrong?

It's hard to go wrong if that's what you want. Personally, I'd be looking for a roller-delayed PCC, but that's me. I already have an AR-9 SBR that I built, and I love it. I have a Sub2000 as well, which I really appreciate for its portability and good accuracy.

I have a few AR uppers in 9mm. 6", 10" and 16". I built off AR platform so manual of arms is same for my rifle caliber rifles/SBRs. I use the Mean Arms Exomags so they fit and feel is just like a standard AR15 magazine. I also have added Maxim Defense roller delayed carbine buffer.

I started with sub2000, then moved to a scorpion, then moved to an sig mpx and finally to an HK SP5. No telling how much money i wasted on this journey. Just go straight to the HK.

Extar EP9, recently purchased, might be my new favorite, and even considering getting a dedicated 9mm can for it. Then making it my fun range / bump in the night gun.

Do it right.

Buy an aftermarket MP5 clone, then decide you don't want a 16" pencil barrel and that you want an SD model. Tear it apart. Rebuild it better, cooler, more awesome-er.

One day when I break down and get a mill, I'll mill out the groves in the receiver so an A-3 style collapsable stock will work on it. As it stands now, the cast receiver is too thick and the dimensions just don't work.

I have a Scorpion EVO suppressed with a Dead Air Ghost that I keep by my bedside. Very easy to clean, never had any problems with it, tons of fun to shoot. Also, didn't Daniel Defense just come out with a PCC? If so, might want to look into that too.

ETA: here is the link to the DD PCC. Looks awesome and allegedly takes scorpion mags, but don't really know anything else about it.
