Looking to buy a dump trailer to haul a skid steer and also aggregate, personal use only.

Planning to get a gooseneck.

Would you recommend buying a better brand with a scissor lift or a cheaper brand with a telescopic lift? Can't really afford a great brand with a Telescopic lift.

Either go scissors or double cylinder telescopic. I screwed up and got single cylinder. No problems yet but if the load is uneven it doesn't look pretty while lifting.

Only thing to add. Avoid Texas Pride.

I have a 16' dump with 4' walls BP. and a 20something' lowboy GN.

The lowboy GN is junk. The neck specifically is junk. And the axles are junk.

The dump has been ok so far. Single telescopic lift. We haul a mini X or a skid steer in it occasionally. The mechanism to hold the doors open destroyed itself due to the leverage the doors have on it. It's a cheap gadget they have.

I had both trailers over built for what I need. I can't imagine how flimsy they would be without the extra we had added.

Just bought a ranch king GN low profile deck over to replace the Texas Pride. The Pride looks like a toy next to the Ranch King. It's embarrassing.

I would stay away from good guys trailers. The retainer on my cover already broke, and my hydraulic pump leaks when lowering the dump bed. Oh, and it's only single action, which means the bed only comes down with gravity.

This trailer is a year and a half old.

Mine is 14' PJ. It's done me good so far but about to put my Kubota track loader on it and pull to Deep South Texas. Machine weighs 9500.

We have been happy with our gooseneck Texas pride. We only have 2' sides so we don't overload it. The single cylinder has way more dumping power than the scissor lift. I will say dump trailers are the worst to haul equipment as they set so high and the ramps all suck.

Have three. Single cylinder all day long!

If you are loading equipment, make sure to have stabilizer jacks on the back end. Look at Lamar and load trail. Diamond C is pricey but pretty nice.

I have two of these Texas Pride dump trailers, and no complaints:

Just went to the dump today.
