Anyone have Starlink equipment they want to offload? I'm intrigued by the mini, but have only used the Gen2/3 up to this point. Core use will be for tailgating + short term home back up.

I don't want to offload mine but just wanted to add that I am incredibly impressed with my mini. I use it for backup home use (WFH) and also at the deer lease. I run around the UTV with it on because we have almost no service and also hook it up at the deer blinds if I need it.

How are you powering it on the SxS? I have a mini as a backup but only home use thus far.

Starlink actually sells a cigarette lighter plug power cord; however, before I knew about that, I ordered one of these for my CanAm. Works like a charm.

This. I use mine in my center console and my shop.

I have a mini and love it. Works great anywhere. You can use several battery options. The plans aren't as good as they used to be. I loved the $10 10gb plan as a backup. Now I just keep it in standby and change the plan when I need it. I used it for several days at home when my cable was out.

I have a front rack on the utv and a silicone case with carabiners that I use to attach it to a pack. I lay the case on the front rack and then run a bungee cord or two over it.

To power it, as the poster below you mentioned, they have a DC power adapter but the cord is USB-C - so you can really hook it up anywhere with USB-C connection. I have seen a couple of mounts for Rangers that can be done under the hood in the front and hardwired to the machine. They're cool but I needed more mobility than that.

Does it put off a wifi signal for a phone to pick up or do you need another device to get wifi to your phone? I've been very interested in this when deer hunting and early morning meetings.

The mini has a built in router so all you need is a power source

Any idea on the range of the signal? Wondering if it would work 50ft from the blind or better to have a portable power station with you.

It works from at least 10-15 yards away, without a bunch of heavy brush. Generally speaking, I place it below the base of the blind or somewhere behind it where it is not in the wide open. Edit to add: I don't place it directly below the blind, rather somewhere around the blind where it still has direct line of sight to satellites.

When I run it on the Ranger I can be 20 yards away and probably more and am still connected with no problem to the wifi. I'll be installing mounts to a blind or two next year

Keep in mind that if you are running it off a battery backup, it is more efficient to plug it directly into a DC cigarette lighter mount on the backup (if yours has one) or use the USB-C, instead of plugging it into an AC outlet, due to the AC to DC inverter loss.

I've never used it on an AC connection but your point is valid. I was referring to any USB-C connection like in a vehicle or UTV.

This inverter has a lot of other uses that give your dollars a utility boost, but you trade voltage conversion efficiency for that. I power my vehicle mounted Mini off something like this.

Some 12v setups won't have enough voltage reliably to the end of the wire to power the Starlink. This eliminates that problem and maintains the water tight plug on the Starlink.

I use a cigarette lighter adapter sometimes but also have a big anker battery pack with a strong enough usbc port.

Also if you need to use it in the house, the little mesh unit helps alot

I use my mini for my RV. The roam plan you can turn on or off as needed is great and they recently upped the monthly base limit from 50 to 100 GB.
