Looking for recs on digital wireless rain gauge/weather station. I've had a couple that were crap. The latest one is a Newenter. it shows about 1/3 of what my old fashioned glass tube rain gauges show four feet away. Sometimes, as it's raining, it actually goes in reverse and shows less rain. Sometimes it shows nothing.
Anyone had any good luck with one?
I know you want digital but some coming to thread might not so I'll post this…
I Gave up on my ambient , lacrosse, and Davis models years ago. None of them are going to be accurate. They are ok if you want the convenience of not reading it by hand and emptying and they are ok if you want "close enough".
This is the only one I use.
https://scientificsales.com/products/stratus-6330-precision-rain-snow-gaugeIt's also only 1 of three that measurement programs will allow.
https://www.cocorahs.org/Content.aspx?page=approved_rain_gaugesThere is simply no arguing the amount of rain received where mine is mounted. It's there. In the tube. With the numbers on it. It holds 13" of rain so no worry of overflow and missing a rain event. (Except Harvey, lol) No magic. No bird **** in the tip scale, no errors with electronics that I can't validate.
