I realize they're probably overhyped and overpriced, but I have a $200 gift card to use, and I can't decide on which blade type.

Does anyone have experience with a particular model that they truly enjoy using? Not really and EDC type knife but one that will be used to breakdown game. Blackfoot 2.0 and Stonewall skinner caught my eye at first glance.

Magnacut steel vs Carbon?

Thanks!

I got the Meat Church knife. I like how sharp it stays. I looks good on the cutting board too!

I own 4 MKC knives… The mini speed goat (Magna), Whitetail (Magna), Packout Skinner (Magna) and the filet knife.

The whitetail can do anything. The mini speed goat is probably my favorite, as it's just sized right for every day tasks.

I haven't used the filet knife yet. There's not much bend, I'll probably use it more in the kitchen for slicing meats, trimming, etc more than anything.

Really like my mini speed goat. When I get another it'll be a blackfoot.

I bought the Stoned Goat as a skinner and love it. Is it worth the money? I'll tell you in a decade or so. Light and feels great in the hand. Sharp and holds a good edge, though.

I watched Josh when he first came on forged and fire and dude has some talent for sure, but damn they are expensive for a production knife.

If I had to choose one MKC knife, it would probably be the Jackstone. Really useful blade shape.

Comparatively, I like the handles and price better on Benchmades. But I've never owned a MKC. Have handled several and I prefer the larger handles.

What draws you to this model? Are you a fan of the Canadian type belt knives?

I have 2 of the Blackfeet. One I bought and one was a gift. I like them. I like the bigger handle compared to the speed goat. Cold hands need something to grab on to

I have 5 of them...... yes, I have a problem.

I have the Traditions Jackstone, Elk Skinner(which I think they just call Elk Knife now), Whitetail, Packout skinner, and Stoned Goat 2. All are magna cut polished.

I am not sure I have a "favorite" really. Here are some thoughts.

Traditions Jackstone... I really like the shape of this one and use it for ranch work. I think it could really do anything from regular work to gutting and cleaning an animal. Just has a great feel and useful shape

The stone goat is the lightest knife I have ever had for that size. the paracord isn't as bad as I once thought it might be. and if you get it all nasty, they will re-wrap it and sharpen it for life, just send it in. I use this for hikes and such.

Packout Skinner and Elk Skinner... both are great skinners. I give the edge to the packout for me. I love the shape and the belly. both are farm superior skinners than a regular knife.

Whitetail... this is my main cleaning knife for deer. it is also a do it all knife. you can't go wrong with it.

all are super sharp and look fantastic. Light and durable.

I have another knife of similar design, and I just really like the blade shape and ergonomics of using it.
