I think there was a thread on here about Starlink setups, but I searched and didn't see it. Anyone have a favorite battery for Starlink mini and maybe even solar setup for charging? Thanks!

I run this for mine. Seems to last between 9-12 hrs. Solar panel is surprisingly quick to recharge too.

When I run on my Polaris I just connect to DC via cigarette lighter and USB-C adapter.

I bought my setup (excluding mini dish) from Vertas Vans. Amazing service but pricy for entire kit. My Peakado battery failed after about 6mo, but they sent VV sent a new one out 2-day delivery.

I've since swapped my primary to run off of 12v using the heavy VV cable. But use the battery when I'm in Polaris for an hour or 2. Heat really affects the battery life for me but 3 hours is generally what I expect

I used to run mine on a Bluettie EB3A and would get about 6 hours out of a full charge if the Bluettie wasn't charging the whole time. The Starlink is now hardwired to my Jeep with an Amazon voltage transformer.

Any decent portable power pack will work. What is your typical use case?

Anker or Jockery.

No specific use. Just wanted to be able to have battery back up for power outage and such or when out remote with no juice. Like the look of what ttha aggie posted.

Works great for me. I have it all, including starlink, in a harbor freight knock off pelican case and can run it while closed. Will be using a lot this weekend.

We have the same or similar Anker for our company Starlink Mini for field work. We don't use it much or have the need for the solar panels. You do need to make sure you've got a power cord that works off the USB.

Some quick napkin math would give you a good idea on how sustainable the solar will be, but the power draw isn't huge.

Here's a thread I started last October. It's got my setup. It works really well.

I bought a 3D printed kit on Etsy that installs in a Harbor Freight Apache 3800 storage box and I can use my Dewalt batteries to power it up. Works nice and Starlink actually works really well inside the closed box.

I bought a cheap adapter from Amazon to run it off my Dewalt battery. I can get 5-ish hours of runtime off a 5ah Dewalt XR battery, and I always have multiple batteries charged.

Quick note: I have not had good luck with generic Starlink cords.

I got a Mini for fathers day. Mainly will be using it at my lease in eastern OK where I don't have cell service and potentially on road trips w the family. I've got a couple of different sized Jackery units and a solar panel for those so should be good on power. Also, just ordered the Veritas Vans mount/protective cover w magetic attachement and handle.

are there any other must have accessories I need to look into for the Mini?

Look at this type of sleeve/case that has the carabiner hooks on it:

I attach this to the outside of my hunting pack and it makes it super easy (hands free) to carry antenna to blind(s). Spending on your vehicle, you can get suction cup mounts for moo /sunroof and other mounts for dashboard mounting and for exterior.

I setup and activated my mini for the first this past weekend while in Port A. I am planning another trip on July 4th weekend.

Should I go back to Standby mode until then or leave it active? Will not be using it until july 4th trip. Still trying to figure this out.

Just leave it, if I remember correctly, downgrading service doesn't actually happen until the end of your billing period, no refund for the rest of the billing period you won't be using it. Turning the service back on from Standby takes about 10 minutes, and your billing is prorated from the day you turn it on.

As for using it in the car, get a 100W car plug to plug it into. I would stay away from suction-cup mounts if you plan to drive down the road with it on the roof. Too many stories of people finding them on the side of the highway. On my vehicles, I place it in the sunroof and close the shade, it works just fine.

I have a Unique Componentry Starbox mount for mine that uses magnetic feet to cling to my roof. Works great so far.

Also have an Anker Prime power pack that resides in the case and allows pass through charging and is plugged into my truck's 120v outlet.

When the truck is on it charges the battery and powers the Starlink. When my truck is off I get 3-4 hours of internet.

I used a couple different anker setups or a big lithium battery with a cigarette adapter in a homemade turtle box
