How much for an extra trash can in College Station?

It was around $10 a month a few years ago.
I have a 2nd trash can. When I get home, I'll check my bill and see if I can figure out the added cost. With my large household, there is no way I could only have 1 can.
The trash cans in College Station have shrunk over the years too...
The 2 trash cans I received in 2008 and the replacement I received late last year (one of them had a gash in its side) are the exact same size. But I agree they don't hold enough for an average household
Just checked my bill. The line item charge for 'Sanitation' was $28.60. I'm assuming this is the charge that includes the 2 trash cans.

I have two I pay $12 for the extra
I requested a second trash bin and told them to take my recycle bin back.
And recycling is every other week. The trash container would be more than enough if recycling was every week.1.618 said:

Can you do like with internet routers and just buy your own instead of leasing?

My mom has an extra can that they won't take - same make/model doesn't have CS logo on it, so they won't empty it

I have 2. Not sure if I'm paying for 2. They were here when I bought the house so I kept using them.
Do they charge for the recycle bin?
No. Wish they gave you a discount for having them take it back though. Or at least offset the second trash can.

Just got into this situation myself, and just got off the phone with College Station Public Works (979) 764-3690. A 2nd Trash Can is now $14.75/mo. for a minimum of 6 mos., picked up once weekly, so at 26 pickups that works out to an extra $3.40 per pickup, or week. Not bad, IMO, for all the trash I need to get rid of.

Recycling is a myth for the most part as well; its just simpler separation; but most waste management groups just add it to the pile of trash from what I have read.
Recycling just looks good in marketing and on TV; and folks eat it up with little research.
a lot of the corrugated medium that is collected and tied together ends up being driven to landfills and disposed of in many locations, ,

Same. Thought I just got lucky. Until seeing this thread today. I'm sure I'm paying for it, they probably roll it over when you hook up utilities.
we inherited 2 cans, CSU made sure to continue to charge is for that additional can. I think it's now 14 or 15 a month

Nah, no it doesn't. At least not for us. We keep a box in the utility room on the dryer. When we have something, we make sure to wash it out and put it in the box. We take the box out and empty when we take the trash out. No big deal.
