The restaurant is so dilapidated. Can the City of Bryan force them to make upgrades and renovate the restaurant?

Well.. no... it's America... you can look dilapidated if you durn well want to...
They CAN say its a code violation... but you can just reply and say you're identifying as shabby chic, and threaten to sue for discrimination or something similar...
and they CAN fine you.. but then you declare bankruptcy and file for unemployment, and thus are supported by the establishment...
Then you go on eBay and buy a bunch of arrowheads and bury them on the property, plant a few rare plants and encourage threatened wildlife to take up residence and thus you have a sacred Native American burial ground that is growing a rare form of Sarracenia (Go look it up, they are native to Texas and are a protected plant), and the bald eagle nesting on top will make them take notice..
My neighbor has 3 different properties on our street and declared all 3 native habitats and they've never been weeded, mowed, or trimmed in the 18 years I've lived here... and its in the middle of a subdivision...

Buddy's Appliances had rotten spots in their facade for years. Then one day, it was patched up. Did the city offer a facade grant or tax break? Wondering if they can do similar for LJS.
I was hoping this thread was about those crispies at the bottom of the fish. Those things are delicious. Or were. I haven't been to LJS in decades.

I thought this was going to be about a certain business owner's Facebook obsession with LJS.
They are still delicious, still not healthy, and definitely not fine dining, but man it brought back the memories... Went back recently for the first time in many-many years. Inside is still closed; only the drive-thru is open.(Car went through the wall, I think.)

I (and many others) have wondered how much business they actually do. I rarely see customers in the drive through or parking lot.

There's been a boarded up hole in the side of the building for months, if not years now. The signs are falling down and usually are not lit up at night. Place is in sad, sad shape. Corporate or someone needs to step in and do something about it. I do love me some LJS fish and chips!!!
This is one of their newer buildings. Pretty nice compared to the dump we have now.
Believe it or not, we used to have a LJS in College Station. Would love to see them bring one back!

I used to live in a place that had Long John Silvers and A&W merged. It was great. I'm not a big LJS fan but my husband is. He could get his fried fish. I could get a cheeseburger or coney. And then we could both have fresh root beer in a frosty mug. That is one place I could really get behind coming to College Station.AggiePhil said:

Don't worry. The grease is so thick now on the walls that its part of the buildings structural integrity. Cleaning it would be more of a hazard.phillytex24 said:

They definitely still must have a dedicated customer base. It one of the mysteries of B/CS in the 50+ years I've lived here.

Yes that is the LJS look that I remember as a kid. With all the ropes and stuff. Miss the unique look of stuff. I miss the themed casino's in Vegas too. I hate generic looking crap.
I need to know if they'll still have the big bell by the exit door to ring if you got good service?
