The restaurant is so dilapidated. Can the City of Bryan force them to make upgrades and renovate the restaurant?

There was a beautification grant. I am guessing the City of Bryan would have to come up with the money and selection process again. I wonder if LJS even applied last time.Hornbeck said:
Buddy's Appliances had rotten spots in their facade for years. Then one day, it was patched up. Did the city offer a facade grant or tax break? Wondering if they can do similar for LJS.

Believe it or not, we used to have a LJS in College Station. Would love to see them bring one back!
Lol. I think he's the only reason I know it's still in business with his almost daily FB posts.trouble said:
I thought this was going to be about a certain business owner's Facebook obsession with LJS.
I used to live in a place that had Long John Silvers and A&W merged. It was great. I'm not a big LJS fan but my husband is. He could get his fried fish. I could get a cheeseburger or coney. And then we could both have fresh root beer in a frosty mug. That is one place I could really get behind coming to College Station.AggiePhil said:

Don't worry. The grease is so thick now on the walls that its part of the buildings structural integrity. Cleaning it would be more of a hazard.phillytex24 said:

Essentially. It's now a parking lot between Harvey Washbangers, Naked Fish, and the Asian Market.maroon barchetta said:AggiePhil said:

Does anyone know when the new restaurant is opening?
More boring modern architecture. I remember when all the fast food chains had their own distinct styles. Now every thing is a plastic and glass box that you couldn't tell apart if it weren't for the sign on the front.Orlando Ayala Cant Read said:

I wonder if the renovations mean a higher class of drug dealing will take place there now.
All very very similar to this.LB12Diamond said:
Did Long John's used to have a unique style?
The Bryan one was a very old, early style which had not only the ersatz Cape Cod style, but the landscaping also had a nautical motif which ropes and pilings like a dock (note the colonial style lamps on the outside of the building as well).:LB12Diamond said:

I need to know if they'll still have the big bell by the exit door to ring if you got good service?
