I was in Keathley and Haas 77-81. Halloween and mixers were so much fun!!

I thought all the dorms are coed now? I know Moses is! When I went to visit my nephew, I was shocked!

I know Leggett and Davis-Gary are all female. I thought Walton was the last all male, and that ended a few years ago.BiochemAg97 said:MsDoubleD81 said:

Was discussing that with my kid just the other day, so I looked it up. There were a couple female only and one male only. The others are coed, but a mix of coed by room, suite, or floor depending on the dorm style.

The interesting thing was that when the University ended Walton's all-male status, some Walton residents filed a Title IX suit, on the basis that since there were all female dorms, there needed to be an all male dorm. The court denied their suit, based on the fact that there wasn't enough demand for an all male dorm. (Though I did wonder why they couldn't make a number of Walton's sections all male, enough to any guys who wanted to live in an all male dorm.)

Can men live in the same room as girls? What about the showers?

Appelt on south side shows as all male. Maybe they found demand after the lawsuit. Underwood and Rudder are the all female dorms. Those are all modular, so at least the accommodations are equal? But they clearly aren't making the cheapest options single gender. Maybe the "demand" is there because lots of people want the modular style and will take a single gender over the other options.

Legett is all female.

Never showered with someone of the opposite sex? Quite the prude....

Some would contend that Davis Gary leaned all-female as far back as the late '70s ...Smeghead4761 said:I know Leggett and Davis-Gary are all female. I thought Walton was the last all male, and that ended a few years ago.BiochemAg97 said:MsDoubleD81 said:

I was in Walton from 00 to 04. I heard they made it co-ed to try to curb the "culture" some but no idea if that is just a rumor. It was fairly wild when I was there. Met one of my best friends in life there.

I THINK only Legett and Davis-Gary are all female, and the rest co-ed. It is my understanding Walton is freshman only.
