Recently purchased a new home and wanting to know if any local appliance stores can compete/beat any of the big box stores in value and prices for new appliances?

TIA

We have used factory builders over the years to get what we wanted when we needed it.

Conn's when they went out of business. I bought about $5k worth of stuff for a little over $2k.

Otherwise, I go to Costco. I got screwed by one of the locals right after Covid. Hiked it up almost 2x. Nothing I could do. When it died 13 months later, they wanted $100 to just come look at it. I told them thanks but no thanks. Never again.

I recently bought from Lowe's and the price was good and delivery was flawless.
Reading the reviews of Costco delivery nightmares were concerning.

i used them to replace all my appliances in my kitchen. They where slightly more than box stores. But they had everything installed in less than 2 weeks. Box stores wanted 6-8 weeks and would install each appliance at a different time.

They used to give you contractor prices, or they did when i bought, if you bought 3 or more appliances.

I'd use them again if i need any appliances

Buddy's for sure. Great family owned business. 10% off service if you buy there.

They've been fantastic when we've needed service calls as well.

I bought a brand-new dryer from Lowe's within the last 18 months or so. I started having issues with it, so I called a local repair person.

He asked me when I bought it, and I said January 2024. He then informed me the dryer was built in 2014... So apparently it was sitting in a warehouse somewhere for 10 years. They definitely charged me 2024 prices for it!

I will never buy appliances from Lowe's again.

You always need to look at the manufacturing date on any appliance, A number of years ago a plumber wanted to install a decade old hot water heater in my house and I asked him to load it back in his truck and leave,

Best is relative to it's meaning. Least expensive? Best service? highest quality? If you want top service and the top quality, you can't beat buying a Speed Queen from Turner, Pierce and Fultz in Navasota,

Installation is key if you rely upon someone else. You don't want any gas/water leaks.

We've bought a dishwasher, refrigerator, washer and dryer from the Ace Hardware store in Navasota (Turner, Pierce & Fultz). Great people, great service, installation was a breeze and the prices were good. We had a broken outer glass on one of our ovens, nobody in town could replace it, but those guys knew exactly what was needed and fixed it within a day of our call.

IF BUDDY's doesn't carry what you want, then we go to Best Buy, whose college-age + installers do it right & carry off the broken items, Presto Chango

That said, Best Buy no longer answers their phone and we avoid the 800# nonsense weaste of time, so On Line Shopping it is

Yes, we have shopped all the rest for decades, no need to list the pros & cons nor what/when it is ideal to shop others. All match up with certain customers as ideal.

We are looking to purchase a 48inch range for our kitchen remodel. Any good scratch and dent places?

I like looking for the clearance priced appliances at Lowes online and having them sent to the store.

I'd start with Appliance Outfitters. They have two locations, one in downtown Bryan and one in south College Station. We bought a brand new Kitchen Aid fridge for well below MSRP because it had a small dent on the back. Still get the full mfg warranty too.

Anyone but Buddy's. Had two recent appliance repair jobs, both severely botched. Used to be reliable, riding on their laurels now.

Also had Buddy's out recently for a repair on our older washer. Could have tried to sell us new appliances but they ordered the part and replaced it in less than a week. Great work as always.

My 17-yr-old Whirlpool front load washing machine has suffered a fatal injury and needs to be placed. Seriously considering the Speed Queen TC5. Looks like there are several SQ dealers in the area (Buddy's, Appliance Warehouse, Appliance Outfitters, and Turner Pierce & Fultz). Any preference as to dealer?

Were quite pleased with them when we bought our Speed Queen set
