Dear St Joseph's in Bryan,
Patient John Doe had surgery at your facility in the spring. At check in, we were asked to make an estimated payment for our portion of the surgery cost. We paid $1,000 into what is apparently a black hole.
Over the next few weeks, St Joseph sent multiple claims to BCBSTX for the pre-op and surgical costs. The sum of the claims added to $960. For those that passed basic math in elementary school, we are due a small refund. ($1,000 - $960 = $40)
The only thing we have received over the past few months are offers for us to utilize a payment plan. Every time we received an email we would call the number for assistance at the bottom of the email. Guess what would happen? Absolutely nothing! We would explain that our payment was more than the claims. They would say that the claims were changing and we needed to wait.
In 4 more weeks, another "Balance Past Due" email. Another offer for us to setup a payment plan for our refund. Another phone call. Rinse and repeat. Wait 4 weeks again? Another kind offer for a payment plan.
I can assure you that their "customer service" actually does not provide any service at all. It has been more than 16 weeks since the surgery and tonight yet another email, yet another another payment plan offer.
This incompetence is pervasive throughout their management and operation of their facilities; this explains why Scott & White is thriving and CHI St Joseph appears to be going out of business.
Sincerely,
Disgruntled

- Broken medical equipment--just roll it into an empty room and close the door.
- Broken elevators--no problem just take the stairs.
- Nurses--resigning in droves.
Sincerely,
Disgruntled
