Wow …. The new owners put lights in and you can actually see inside the place. I've always liked Ace Hardware in my old place in Cypress it was my go to for projects because they had people who actually answer questions unlike Lowe's or Home Depot.

I usually go there before Lowes or HD.
It will be interesting to see if the new owners continue to devote a quarter of the floor space on clothing and knick-knacks.

I was in there the other day. The owner was there and extremely helpful. Customer service is top notch.
The BBQ section is much bigger and they plan to keep some of the outdoor and kick knack stuff too.

I'm curious about Bear Mountain, specifically, now that we have an REI. Although I am not optimistic about REI's future here.
Last time I was in REI, I was talking with one of the workers, I believe an Assistant Store Manager, about how things have been in the store. I don't remember the exact terminology he used, but he said that the College Station store was a high earning store, putting it in the top quarter of all locations. Perhaps it is the novelty of it being a new store, but I was surprised by that.

They (REI) have some good stuff. I just got my America the Beautiful National Parks pass there recently, too.
Good to hear. I've been by there probably 15 times since they opened and have usually been one of the only customers.
Lights??? I felt odd wearing my headlamp in the store but light is an upgrade!
