We are just getting into needed home reno/repair items. Would've been super helpful if we had known it was going on.

$20k on advertising? If that's the case, it was not handled well and the ad agency robbed the event.

I heard about it on the radio numerous times the past few weeks.

I'm likely not the normal target, but I only listen to the radio for as long as it takes my car and phone to sync up. Radio advertisement is a poor choice these days and it's only going to get worse.

I've heard this for years, but it's not factual:

https://barrettmedia.com/2026/03/11/84-of-americans-listen-to-am-fm-radio-weekly-new-fmr-eastlan-data-shows/

I find it interesting that they break that 84% claim down on several ways but not (unless I missed it) into more narrow ages. My guess is that listening to the radio is heavily correlated with age. And that's probably ok for the garden show because I'm not their average target. But I will be someday and the competition from other audio media is only increasing.

In the morning it's Infomaniacs. At lunch if I drive somewhere to eat, it's Louie Belina. On the drive home it's Chip Howard.

I don't even know what those are.

I'm absolutely willing to be wrong, but in our very limited sample, only 50% of 32-33 year-olds listen to radio weekly, down at least 14% from their parents.

When I lived closer to San Antonio, I listened to a morning show ever l at least every other day, but it's not on here. Not to mention, my drive went from 50 minutes to 5-10, so even if I was listening, I'd be unlikely to hear any one advertisement.

Radio is sweet but today it's a pretty bad medium to limit your advertising to, unless your target audience are retirees.

Oh for sure, I'm not trying to say I'm the norm in any means. But I do get a lot more from radio, even in the 10-20 minutes I'm on the road, than I do from streaming music.

The point was mostly to say that I didn't hear the ads for this event on the radio either.

Didn't pick that up, sorry. No matter what, radio definitely can't be the only media used to spread the word. Spring break is also a poor choice.
