A friend who doesn't live in Texas asked me if I knew any good estate lawyers in Texas, but I don't know any at all. Her mom recently passed away, and I think she died in Dallas. I don't know if the lawyer needs to be in the same city/county or just in the same state, but if the location needs to be more specific, I guess she'd want someone in the Dallas area. I would assume there's probate and/or someone contesting a will. My friend and her sister don't get along, and the last I heard, her mom wasn't on good terms with either of them. Also, is this something where the lawyer ought to be in the same immediate area as the deceased, and if so, should I post this question on the Dallas board? Thanks.

Yes, I would post this in the Dallas forum.

A local lawyer is the best way to go.

If in Dallas, call the office of Eric Gambrell. If he doesn't handle that type of case, someone in his office will.
