Worth a visit? I'm going to be in Frisco for a couple of days at the end of August. I don't see anything on their website that blows me away, but I thought some first-hand observations might change my mind.

A lot of it is geared towards families. I've done PopStroke, Immersive Gamebox, Fritz Adventure, Andrettis with my kids and they've all been fun. So I would say worth it if traveling with older kids.

We go there quite a bit - several good restaurants/bars and lots of entertainment choices for both adults and kids.

Football at COSM is really cool if you're there that late in August.

I live right behind it, and we're there pretty frequently.

Lots of good ways to kill time with family. We'll just go walk around Scheels on a Sunday afternoon with my kids. Dining options aren't fantastic, but we really like Quartino for Italian.

It'll be crazy hot in August so hanging out on front of the stage for music probably won't be an option. But lots of fun indoor stuff for kids like others have said.

Edit to add: COSM is awesome. I saw the Matrix there a couple weeks ago, and I was blown away. I think it's running through the end of summer.

I just now noticed they got rid of their age restriction. Nice! I'll have to bring my family. Puttery is fun.

If you've never been to a Nebraska Furniture or Scheels you could spend the whole day doing both of those, they're huge. The Furniture mart isn't just furniture, but just about anything you could want to get for your house. Anything not at NFM will probably be at Scheels.

There's some other cool shops around the area too, and lots of activities for families with kids.

We did the Great Big Gameshow a few weekends ago and it was a good time.

I recently went to NFM for the first time ever. We went straight after church, so the doors weren't open when we got there. They have like 20 doors. Lines were queued up at every door with people literally running into the store when it opened. I had no idea wtf was going on. Spent 10 minutes inside and went and bought our sofa down the street.

Eh to each their own. NFM helped a lot in decorating my first home purchase so that was an event unto itself

Scheels I got my recteq smoker from and had a great time shopping and talking to the guy there about the smokers they had

NFM was one of the few places with workout equipment in stock during peak lockdown hysteria. They've had the best selection, and usually prices, on appliances when we've needed to get something too. I'm not a fanboy but I appreciate its versatility.

Scheels is worth visiting if you have time to kill.

Agree that Quartinos is solid.

Good point on NFM pricing.

I bought a new projector on Crutchfield when we moved in. Same unit was $1000 less at NFM, so I canceled the order and took it home that day.

We did a major remodel just before COVID and bought a ton of stuff at NFM. All of our kitchen appliances, area rugs, bedroom furniture and den furniture. I think we've dropped over $20,000 there over the years. On a sidenote, can somewhat explain to me why there are a ton of Indian people that shop there (and other furniture stores for that matter). You always see multigenerational Indian families shopping for furniture in DFW. Not a big deal….. just curious.

It's because there are a lot of Indian people that live near there because of the Plano and Frisco schools, not some magic NFM Indian magnet.

As it turns out we probably won't have much time to do anything there anyway. We'll be rolling in on a Friday afternoon, and will attend a football game in Allen that night. Next day we have a game at The Star at noon that will occupy me until 4 o'clock or so. The boss wants to eat at Whiskey Cake for dinner (it's okay I suppose, but she loves it). We'll leave Sunday, so I don't think we'll do anything at Grandscape.

The electronics deals at NFM look interesting though.

Come to the Frisco Costco on a Sunday night and you'll swear you are in Mumbai.

Same thing in the Southlake Costco now too. I was commenting on it to my wife last weekend when we went.

I watched a Stars playoff game at Cosm. Totally worth the price of admission. It was a great experience, and I'd definitely do it again. Sporting events can be a little pricey, but I highly recommend.

Let me guess: the parking lot is full of Teslas with "Please be patient. Student Driver" on the back windshields.
