I need to know what got dumped after Muse in the News! Apparently Gordo had a major e-brake going in to an ad read.

Based on context clues, sounds like he mispronounced "Trifecta" as "Tri-f*ck-ta"

This. He was trying to say "trifecta of luxury." Elided some syllables.

Not sure anyone listened to the musers pod. A lot of reminiscing about the early camp days and the evolution of fake Jerry.

Ok, not great. Probably the least interesting of the pods thus far

No, not as emotionally in depth as the last couple of them but it was still a fun listen. I liked hearing their personal stories of early training camp days hearing the coaches visiting with all the media off the record.

I mean, I'll be honest, the Musers could talk about the consistency of trash bags or something worthless and it would be a fun listen to me lol.

You may have to check the Unticket on that, because I think Junior has already Top5/Bottom5'd that.

Someone remind me, when is Junior's worst day of the year? The second Tuesday in August?

2pm on the second Tuesday of August

ummm thats my birthday this year

I mean technically the 12th is my birthday every year, but it happens to be the second Tuesday this year.

As someone born on that day and living in Texas most of my life I can confirm it's usually a brutal day and nobody wants to do anything fun, outside especially.

I found his reasons and I have a few of my own

My reasons:
- football seasons has not started yet
- the Rangers are usually out of contention
- no NHL, no NBA, no big golf tournaments, all the horse races are done for the year, etc.
- most of the big summer blockbusters have already been released

His specific reasons:
  • August sucks and is objectively the worst month of the year on its own accord.
  • It's always stupid hot outside this time of the year and especially so in Dallas.
  • There are really no holidays of note around this date.
  • Network TV is still in re-runs, and prime-time options are slim pickings.
  • Sports-watching options at this time of year are slim, at best. (Apologies to baseball fans.)
  • Kids are about to go back to school, so they're in bad spirits.
  • Summer is ending, which is a bummer.
  • Tuesdays are the worst day of the week because you're no longer refreshed from the previous weekend and the next one is still a ways off.
  • Even more specific, the second Tuesday of the month is the worst of all because, during the first Tuesday, you're still refreshed from the previous month and, during the third and fourth, you can "see the finish line."
His TV thing is a bit outdated - but I would update that to say very few new streaming shows seem to come out in August.

Funny thing, I work with people in the upper Midwest, and they LOVE August.

You left these off his list:

- the car gets hot quickly while you are inside taking a Saturday home tour
- the alley stinks worse in the heat when you are getting plowed by some rando dude behind a Cedar Springs business

- favorite twink leaves for 2-week vacation on the second Sunday of every August. Leaving Junior empty and lonely.

I travel to Chicago a bunch for work... summer is absolutely the best time of year there. They would trade August for the second Tuesday in February no doubt.

But in Texas? It's August

Would still take August. Doesn't get dark until almost 9. Twilight golf. Meaningful CFB is played. Pool is in play. Lakes are in play. Baseball beats basketball any day. Heat generally takes a bit to suck; cold sucks immediately

Nah, he's fairly satisfied because as always he takes off from the rest of the hosts and " does his own thing" for a few hours evey trip. I guess his man faced wife just deals with it for his bank account.

The gay stuff is funny… but my biggest problem with junior is he legitimately hasn't brought any value to the show in probably 10 years. Pretty much all other hosts have been able to adjust with the changing times but damn; June's is just a beat down to listen to, especially when he's leading a segment.

He and George leave so much meat on the bone when it comes to sports, especially college football. Neither one has made the connection in their minds that it's not 2005.

I've listened to multiple segments of them talking about all the changes in college football. They've even predicted some of them.

Junior is great at talking about the changes and I enjoy those. I'm talking specifically about programs and the national landscape. For 10 years I've listened to them talk about how great Texas and USC and Notre Dame are going to be and how great the big 12 is while completely glossing over the SEC. And of course propping up OU. Then George gets teary eyed about how great the SWC used to be… "and now a message from Crest Cadillac"

Not to pile on Junior, but I did find it fascinating how he recently discovered that hospitals are the one place where life begins and ends.

And their assessment of Happy Gilmore 2 was way too harsh. It was EXACTLY what I thought it would be for a Netflix sequel. I enjoyed all 2 hours.

I'd rather a sequel like that be a nostalgic call back than try and replicate or even outdo the success of the first one.

It's RARELY done.
