What i was told is they were expecting g the state to assist with relocation. I think k those funds were being distributed by the city, and the city first disadvantage yes, then reneged on that promise and that's what did them in. They said they had required a 2nd location but I dont know the details.

Terrible as they were one of the better breweries.

Yes the market is shrinking and famn near all do not have proper capital so 1 wrong move is the end of many.

The building that used to be North Shepherd Brewing has signs up saying it will be Farmboy Brewing Co.

3rd brewery in that spot, maybe this one will make it.

I hope he can make decent beer. Hopefully those neckbeards will push him to drop all crystal malt from IPAs. Get a decent WCIPA going.

Don't really drink much beer nowadays other than when actually at a brewery. Recently walked in the beer aisle at West Alabama HEB and was surprised to see ZERO Eight Wonder or No Label.
Admittedly haven't had much EW since they've focused on thc drinks but was surprised there wasn't any of their standard offerings.
I do miss Crush City IPA from Buffalo Bayou. A shame they mishandled their stuff.

At their peaks, i feel like both of those never really had large store or bar distribution. You can still find No Label at stores around Katy but I havent seen an 8th Wonder beer in the store in years.

They have a full service kitchen, which was one of the big draws. Food was enjoyable. Beer was inconsistent, the owner brewed, they had a head brewer for a time, they hired a consultant to come in and revamp the line up a few years ago.

I think they liked the idea of a brewpub but didnt want to invest in the knowledge or material for better beer.

Was at Farmboy a week or so ago... They were not selling beer, but were giving out "samples".

The brewery isnt running yet. Theyre doing upgrades on the system they bought because parts of it were janky.

Yeah location and food helped them. I enjoyed their food and patio enough that the one or two beers that were decent kept me coming back. Not a lot but somewhat regular.
