It absolutely did. They were hitting suburbs as well and nailing people parked over the sidewalk, facing wrong way on street, etc.
Whats funny, is they basically weren't even popping people for things like DUI during peak Covid. I know someone who was wasted on alcohol and too much of their prescription drugs, swerving all over the place, and hit the concrete divider on I-10 East near Bucees...so out of their mind they thought they were on the WEST SIDE of town driving to KATY. The team of cops who pulled him over were all masked and gloved up and allowed him to call a relative to come pick them up. (This person went off the deep end Summer of 2020 but has since gotten help thank God)

They basically weren't supposed to make contact with people for most misdemeanor crimes. That is what I heard at least. Considering how many LEO's are morbidly obese, I kind of understand the concern about spreading it through a dept of out of shape fatties.

You could pretty much drive however the hell you wanted during Covid...just don't park a single ft too close to a fire hydrant or stop sign lol.
you have one piece of anectodal evidence and that means for you police didn't enforce DUI laws. ok
Not saying no one got arrested for DUI during Covid. You should slow down and read things before you try to throw e-shade. You scrappy liberal male feminists are so antsy to get your comeuppance against normal people with healthy testosterone levels that you all too often fail to do your proper due diligence.

I bolded it for you. I literally mentioned my story to an off duty officer that I used to play pool with around that time at the bar down the street and asked him about it...he said they definitely scaled back enforcement of certain crimes out of abundance of caution to "prevent the spread".

It was also discussed on the politics forum years ago, and I believe on here. It's why you, if you have decent general observation skills, probably noticed a significant uptick in crazy erratic driving, and even things like paper tags. You probably saw far fewer people being pulled over during peak Covid. Again, if you have an above 80 IQ and eyes.

They also let people riot and destroy sh** and go much farther than they should have too. Member all those hoodlums vandalizing sh** because the pregnant-woman-robbing thug and hero to all democrats OD'd on enough fentanyl to kill a small village? Member?

Well that escalated quickly....

I have no evidence but I remember reading about how the DWI numbers were pretty steady throughout covid (post lockdown when bars were closed) even though there were less drivers.

Here's one article mentioning the 2020 numbers were almost caught up with 2019.

Maybe I am wrong, but my commentary against liberal male feminists still stands. I still trust my cop homie at the ice house. To be fair, he may have just been talking about general traffic offenses, not DWI's. Police depts took precautions to prevent the spread, and part of that was limiting interactions with the general public, when possible, according to him.

But as to my anecdotal story from August 2020, it was a team of officers onsite and they were gloved, masked and social distancing and asked the person's family to come get them...pretty much said they couldn't take them to jail (This was Baytown) from what I remember. Aside from checking license etc. they were following the most Anthony Fauci recommended of protocol.

Crazy to think DWI's remained steady when for several months it was a fraction of the number of cars on the road (esp at night) and many bars were closed. Guess a ton of people just became alcoholics. I remember for a few months having the roads almost to myself at night time on my bike, it was awesome. Maybe drunk drivers were easier to spot during those times bc fewer cars on the roads? I hardly remember seeing cops at all on the roads during much of the summer of 2020.

STS, as the alpha in this situation, I will take the high road and apologize, I just was not a fan of your tone. I am used to being given respect at all times, but obviously all you see is an internet handle, so you have zero clue who you're dealing with. I still question how DWI's remained steady with nary a cop car in site for a few months and a small fraction of the cars on the roadways, but whatever.

haha, not yet, I'm worried that the owner (who clearly does not have much going for him) that lives in the apartment complex a couple addresses down will retaliate. There is no doubt he will know who called it in.

It is a whole saga, we have all decided that he is dating an only fans girl, they live together, she makes all the $$ and he is essentially somewhere between a pimp and a grifter.

None of this is confirmed except, of course, in my head

yea, he parked it in the same spot.

If I had to guess, he spent more money getting the car out of the compound then the car is worth.

It also hasn't moved since he brought it back, which is obviously already in violation of City Ordinance 26-93
