I will say this, we were on 99 the other day passing through Tomball, and they are already expanding it. Couldn't help but laugh and wonder how they didn't see that coming. Maybe there is something I am missing, but seems like someone effed up if they are already expanding a major toll road or freeway that is just a few years old.

This I-10 project may be necessary, and the most efficient/non-invasive way to do it, but it's still going to be a gigantic cluster F worthy of following.

I normally post nothing on social media but baby pics and extreme right winged facsism, but I had to give all the peeps on IG a heads up on this bad boy.

The Tomball area construction is putting in all the interchanges to/from 249 now that both are done.

Oh dang, I was thinking that stretch was completed closer to 2019-2020...that makes sense.

One more traffic alert: Don't forget that Smash Mouth is playing at Miller Outdoor tonight.

They announced this closure like two weekends ago, ran it in the news. Nothing shut down that weekend. No retraction.

Gonna be a lot of people who won't believe them again stuck in traffic.

I don't go out that way much now that my son is in college, but I thought they were widening the lanes, too. And that the construction would gradually work its way east, to 45.

Won't be disappointed to hear I'm wrong.

That's not what I had envisioned. Preferable to stage the equipment and materials and then tackle the job in pieces that would be completed in overnight segments. If there are 16 wires then run 2 to 4 across all lanes per night and get them elevated before dawn. It's not rocket science.

I was talking to an entergy guy about this. I asked why they don't use drones to fly the wire over the road. He thought that was an interesting idea.

He's working on the 59 power line project. They'll have to close the road to string wires near porter. But he said they close the road for a max of 15 minutes per hour while they do this. So it's slow but still open.

I'm not sure people understand how much that cable weighs per linear foot.

Could they carry the rope so that the wire can be pulled?

Essentially anything to shorten the time the road is closed?

I definitely remember the retraction notice. If I'm not mistaken it was because of potential weather?
