The wife and I are looking for a restaurant for our anniversary in a couple of days. We are out in Katy but happy to drive to the City Centre or Galleria areas, just don't want to go downtown or to the Woodlands for example. Neither of us are into exotic, gourmet dishes or crazy cocktails - we are fairly basic meat and potatoes type people with red wine and glass of bourbon. We generally go to a good steakhouse or seafood for nicer dinners, but trying to find somewhere new to go besides the standard ones we've been to (e.g Pappas, Flemings, Federal Grill, Perry's etc). As I know nothing about the restaurant scene or new hot spots.

Doesn't have to be a steakhouse, but wife doesn't like sushi. Just don't think Mexican or Chinese fits the bill for this dinner. Suggesgtions? Thanks.

It's pretty close to DT so may be out of your desired location but Prime 131 is a great spot for a nice dinner.

We also really like Relish over off the BW and Memorial Dr.

If Italian is an option, give Enoteca Rossa a look then afterwards you can visit the speak easy next door called Rossa Room

Wife and I celebrated our anniversary at Credence (memorial city) last month. We really enjoyed it. Steaks, fish, pasta, fairly simple menu. Good atmosphere.

Owner of all the Goode co places. So it's Texas style food.

Vic and Anthony's. Nothing in Houston is better than their king crab legs and prime fillet.

Great place, lot of variety on that menu. Probably a bit more casual / laid back than the rest of steakhouses mentioned.

Liberty Kitchen might be a good one as well.

Both have locations in City Center

Pearl & Vine right in Katy? We went there for our anniversary this year.

I second Credence. Very nice place.

Eunice on Buffalo Speedway is good, too.

The wife and I went to Bludorn for our anniversary a few weeks ago, and it was top notch. I think Bar Bludorn is a little closer to the Katy area.

Not a fan. Too big, crowded, and noisy for me.

Brenner's Steakhouse as some suggested. Very pretty setting for anniversary. Great non fancy food. Best old fashion IMO. Good service.

Bar Bludorn has great drinks, but been there 3 times and they need more butter and salt on all their dishes.

Jonathon's is our go to but too casual IMO for anniversary. The Memorial drive location is more upscale.

Credence is good but overpriced IMO and nothing stands out. And most uncomfortable chairs ever.

Just realized nobody has suggested there backyard.

Is it bad that I think Pappa's Bros is the best bang for your buck steakhouse?
