I need to do work in my attic and part of it is going to involve removing all of the old insulation. Anyone have a company they recommend? They also need to look at all the existing vents and seal things off.

I need this to be a 3 day project because after all the old insulation is gone I have a plumber ready to come in to re-route PEX lines, I have an electrician ready to come in to add another circuit, plus we're going to pull some coax and CAT6 lines and get this stuff off of the joists. Then some framers to come in and fix a few structural issues and THEN blown in new insulation.

It's a 50yr old single story house so I'd like to have some of the ducting looked at as well.

I'm on the west side of Houston.

I used payless years ago and was pleased

I thought they started HVAC services but I guess they didn't

I used Mark at this company off TexAgs recommendations (he had a lot of fans if I recall). Not sure if he performs all the services you require, but he was great on blown in removal and replacement. It was easy to schedule/free estimate, only took a day, very clean, and the price seemed good to me. This was a few years ago.

I'll call both and get some bids and find out specifics of what services the offer. Keeping the soffit vents clear is a big item for ventilation.

Everything else is just get it done while it's open, including stabling flags to the ceiling to mark where items are such as fan and can light boxes etc... Just makes things easier down the road.

Second MJ. Had them pull out my old and blow in new about 2 years ago. Very satisfied with the work.

Hired MJ Insulation.

Had them remove on a Monday and return the following Monday, during the week we did a lot of work plumbing/electrical/framing. Super easy to work with and schedule. More importantly, all the other subs that came in were very impressed with the quality of work.

The other most important part was they arrived on time and were within 10 minutes of his expected work times. Very impressed with his crew. He's also on site.

The last note is, doing the insulation during the cooler months is more ideal, they can work non-stop and don't have to take breaks or split days due to the heat.

How much was the insulation removal and install? Ours is from 1990 so I'm sure it could use a refresh.

Depends entirely on 1 or 2 story and sq ft.

Give Mark a call:

What he told me today was he has time for jobs, but once it gets hot booking will be more difficult.
