I live in West Houston (I-10 and Beltway 8). I've had 4-5 foundation repair companies come out to provide a concrete slab foundation assessment / evaluation. They all differ quite a bit. I would like to get an unbiased structural engineer to come out and provide their detailed evaluation of the foundation and provide their suggestion on how to proceed so I can figure out which foundation repair company to use.
I did some research and came upon the following structural engineering firms in Houston:
- Gerard Duhon (I read he is semi-retired)
- Hedderman Services
- Professional Engineering Inspections, Inc
- Houston Foundation Inspections (Matt Gray; son of the defunct Michael Gray)
- Crosstown Engineering
Do you have any feedback on any of these structural engineers or any other recommendations? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Note: a few years back, I used Texas Structural Engineers for a different home and they weren't very helpful. They sent out a recent college grad with very limited experience that didn't provide any detailed / useful feedback.
