Will say that Highway 6 is the ultimate suck on weekends, with eleventy-billion Toyota Camrys driving 5 under the speed limit in every lane.

Last month, there were TWO fatal accidents on a simple stretch of Highway 6 closer to Missouri City where you would never imagine an accident like that.

As a Dulles kid, Sugar Creek was were as ll my rich friends lived. I have a few friends who have moved back and settled their own families there. I think they just closed Dulles Elem so I don't know where those kids go now.

Try looking at Long Meadow Farms on the Lamar CISD part or any brand new neighborhoods off of 359.

So for those wanting to go to a less "diverse" hood where should we go? Greatwood is changing as well. Maybe not as fast as Sienna but it's getting there. So go farther north past woodlands or south west past Rosenberg? No way due south is an answer. Or best to go to sealy? Or northwest to lake Livingston?

Probably a different state or country.

Yeah Highlands is going from 500 kids to 800 next year. Part of the reason mine are going to a private school next year. Going to be a mad house.

I like the army base Greatwood reference. Maybe hyperbole, but I will toss my opinion in and agree with Spadley about Greatwood. For reference, I'm an OG class of 90 and been on texags since 2002. Grew up in Kingwood. Returned to Houston after grad school at Auburn and bought starter home in new territory. It was diverse when we moved there in 97. Lived there 13 years and moved to Greatwood (NT was trending hard to Indian, and even way back then the streets were packed with. Our Nigerian neighbors had probably 8 cars. Still so there because I have friends there and there are still 8 cars stacked there. This is the low end area (meadow creat subdivision of NT), and probably less of an issue with higher end because we still have friends in NT that is not as bad. But still l, NT has changed.

I personally love Greatwood. Huge majority do Christmas lights, trick or treating, 4th of July parade, etc. someone joked about the casserole and poker culdesac thing, and we had a couple with young kids juat move in (we will take them food at some point) and told them we are having a blackjack party on 7/4 (spadley dm me if you want invite).

Thanks for the input Tabasco. Do you have any thoughts on the current state of the schools? Dickinson, Campbell, Reading, GR? We have 2 little ones not quite elementary age yet and are eying GW. Also -- how's the golf course?

Schools are great. One of the reasons we moved here. Elementary schools (has Greatwood students only) are top notch. Poly Rion (6) and Reading (7/8), and George Ranch are very good too, but you see more of a mix since some areas funnel in that are less motivated by academics. Just need to work the Pre-AP and AP classes in middle and high school to ensure you are in more academic focused classes (like anywhere I presume).

I lived in Riverpark, but we were quickly out growing our home there and were not keen on Lamar HS. So we built a new home in Harvest Green.

After a year in Harvest Green, we are going to be packing up and finding a home in Greatwood. My new house is perfect, but this neighborhood is antithetical to everything I was looking for in a place to raise my kids.

Using ChatGPT you can ask it to pull the property owners from FBCAD and estimate the demographic break down by using the surnames.

There are 143 households in my section of Harvest Green.

4 Western, 4 Hispanic, and the rest is Pakistani.

We did not have a single trick-or-treater and we were one of 2 houses with Christmas Lights. Our new park is covered in socks that have been left behind. Most homes have multiple unmarried adults staying at home. Our next door neighbor is an older couple and their 3 unmarried mid-20's sons.

I could go on, but get me out.

They take off their shoes and socks to climb on the playground and just leave them everywhere. No less than 20 socks in and around the playground at all times. I don't get it either.
