Anyone been to the fan zone? If so, was it easy to get there on the metro?

We are going to the game Friday and trying to decide if it's worth going to the fan zone, then riding the metro back downtown and then taking it out to the stadium.

Anyone have any advice? Coming from the north and we have only done the metro once, so really not sure how it all works.

It's all easy access by Metro. It can just get crazy packed the closer to game times. So I would try to get to the fan zone at least an hour before any games start, and I would try to get back to the Main st station and headed towards NRG by 5pm.

You might have more luck posting this on the A&M Soccer Forum. I did not go to the Fan Zone last Saturday, but I did park downtown and took the train down to the stadium. Pretty easy, but the train did get packed and that was at 9:30am for the noon kick off.

Was very surprised how easy it was to catch the train back downtown after the game. It was packed, but only had to wait for maybe 5 minutes to get on a train.

Also, on the metro now you can just tap your CC or debit card with tap capability on the reader to pay for your fare. No need to go to the machine and choose routes or times. Each person has to use a separate card though and one tap lasts for like 3 hours so you can take the train from Shell stadium in Edo to downtown then the train to NRG all with one tap.

$2 cheaper than inside "Houston" stadium!!!! $18 Ultra.

Is it worth going to if it is not during a game? Just to check it out with the kids?

It's only open on days matches are going on, but the further away from a big match going on you can get in, the better experience you will probably have. It has some cool things to see.

Go as early as possible if you're going today. I thinnk the match starts at 9.

It was worth checking out once because there is some cool stuff, but I'd never do it again.

There are two games at 3pm, two games at 6pm, and two games at 9pm today.

The USA game is at 9pm.

That's what I was wondering.....how strict are they with checking for beers in pockets?

We just finished. Rode the green line from downtown out there. It was not crowded and really hot. Worth a stop but wouldn't go again.

If you go, get reservations to do the bank of America bracelet. Didn't realize you need reservations for it
