It looks like the Skyland elevator there in Sunray had a grain dust explosion. All of the employees were accounted for but several had to be air lifted.

I'm going to have my guys deep clean our elevators next week.

Any updates as to cause. I expect it is grain dust, but any idea what sparked it?

Everything was too far gone to come up with a definitive cause but, the general consensus is that a bearing got hot at the bottom of the leg in the boot pit and ignited the dust.

The only elevator vs. wrecking ball I ever saw was on a bunch of elevators on the north side of Lubbock. I think they may have been in the path of I-27.

Wrecking ball had its work cut out for it. Lots of rebar embedded in lots of concrete

It has 5 sections, and the first 3 from the west show significant damage.

I think the source of the explosion was in the second one. I still haven't heard anything. Just saw the wrecking ball working on the west end this morning, and said oh looks like it's coming down.
