We live on the east side of town, so house is safe. Our farm is southwest of Canyon, but is west of the fire's path. So we got lucky

Saw a video of trestle bridge fire south of Canyon posted on Instagram last night. That can't be good.

I saw where the evacuation zone went right up to CJHS (which was the high school campus when I was there 50 years ago.) I don't recall wildfires being much of a problem in the 1960s and 70s, but I think those decades were unusually wet. I know 1974 was. Half the time our marching practice field was a swamp that year.

Lord we need rain in a bad way. Hope they get everything contained soon.

Interstate 27 currently closed from Highway 217 (PD Canyon Highway) to Hungate Road (10 miles south)

Structure fire beginning at 17 second mark is a junk yard that was close to the trestle. No big loss, maybe a long-term positive.
