Every Ag Operation Starts Somewhere. What's Your Story?
Whether you're fifth generation or the first in your family to run cattle, plant a crop, or manage your own piece of land - every ag journey starts somewhere.
Whether your family has worked Texas land for generations or you're forging your own path in agriculture, every operation starts with a moment. Maybe it was a lease on a few acres, a couple head of cattle, a borrowed tractor, or just a bold idea and a lot of grit.
No two stories are the same, and that's exactly what makes Texas agriculture so strong.
So tell us:
What first got you into ag?
Who helped you get your start?
If you could give your younger self one piece of advice, what would it be?
At Capital Farm Credit, we believe those beginnings matter. That's why we created the GROW Your AgriRoots contest, a $50,000 program supporting early-career producers who are growing their businesses and making a difference in Texas agriculture.
There are two award categories:
Rising Star (under 2 years of experience)
Trailblazer (210 years of experience)
Winners are selected based on leadership, financial character, sustainability, and how they're giving back to their communities.
Applications are open now through June 20.
If that sounds like you, or someone you know, learn more and apply here.
In the meantime, we'd love to hear your ag origin story. Drop it below!
