My wife is a book nerd, love her. She came across the Cactus Book Store in San Angelo and wants a day trip to meet the owner. He's up there in age, but still very spry in a recent Texas Country Reporter episode. Any WT Ags know this store & whether the owner is still alive & kickin'?

I cannot speak to the owner being around, but if your wife enjoys books, it's a phenomenal bookstore with a lot of books you'll likely not find on the shelves of most chain stores. I love it because they have every Elmer Kelton book and many are signed. My family loves going.

I called and the owner is there depending upon how he feels each day. He has a bunch of authors who volunteer to stand in when he is out.
