I have noticed that Choke Canyon is always 34 feet (or more) below Full Pool regardless of rain in the Frio River watershed. Can any of you shed light on this phenomenon?

Too dry in watershed….what rain does fall soaks up. I really don't think there has been that much rain in the Frio watershed TBH.

Hey there Brush Country Ag, have we had enough rain that you would expect a rise in the level of Choke Canyon Reservoir?

It is still down 35.97 feet.

I don't think we will see a major jump…unless we keep receiving more rain in the next couple of days. The lake is just too low and that Kerrville rain didn't catch enough of the Frio watershed. Don't expect this to alleviate the Stage 3 water restrictions Corpus area has going. Hopefully we see more tropical activity over the summer -rain NOT wind!!

The Frio River flooded over three days ago and Choke Canyon Reservoir is still 36 feet below normal as of this morning.

It's going to be interesting to see the lake levels next week. Hopefully we keep getting these tropical rains.

At this point, I have two beds I'm going to rip out and just replace with rock. These water restrictions have killed them and I frankly don't need plants in them anyway. They are smaller, tertiary beds.
