I bought one of their homes in Temple's historic district. I have encountered several issues with the city for code noncompliance for the driveway they added. The same valve stopped working in both new shower installs (causing +$10k in flooring and wall repairs). The siding was beginning to fail in several places on the home (causing another +$10k in repairs). All of this in the first two years. I have communication and payment receipts for every single bit. Be thorough if purchasing one of their homes.

I think I know this house. Did you just put up a fence and driveway you refer to in the last few months?

If so, I believe your neighbors across the street was a HK home as well. May compare notes.

You might be referring to the big blue house off 9th.

I am still in the process of paving the driveway, but you might know my house as well (off 5th).

The name alone would give me pause. But that's just me.

Man, the Facebook page of the "CEO," the wife of the owner has some wacky stuff on it.

I wasn't expecting to see something like this in reference to Temple

LOL. That's what I was talking about. I'm not sure quite how to interpret that.

I was planning to hit up Greens in Zabcikville on the way up to Waco for the 4th.
I'll be sure to take the loop around Temple now, just in case.

I know and like Derek and Anna and they have been nothing but nice to me... which is why I didn't lean into that on my initial post. i'm sure we have some large political disagreements, but I'm always happy to run into their family.

but.....

they are the root of the "You are Loved" LGB signs in our hood if that connects any dots. it's not something I support, but I'm also not going to be antagonistic over it.

i know my politics and religious views don't match with much of the neighborhood's and I have been friendly with people of all races, political views, and sexualities, but I tend to keep it to myself and that helps to get along while still being salt and light. the other Christian families in the neighborhood are always happy at get-togethers even if people on the other side of the aisle know the differences.

I remember when I first looked at a house off 7th when we were moving here, one neighbor had a pride flag and the next door neighbor had a confederate flag. I was like, hmmm...

It's by far the most mixed political area in Bell County. Trump right by Harris signs all over

There is a block where every house flies a pride flag year round and a house caticorner to them says "at the end of that rainbow is death" pointed directly at that block and a bunch of Trump signs.

Northside is weird man.

Oh, yeah, I've seen that situation. Rumor was the guy that bought that house got pushed out of a church somewhere in the North Austin suburbs for being a bit radical, and he said wanted the most plantation looking house he could find. Just wild.

That is nuts.

When did Temple become ground zero for the culture wars?

i wouldn't say it's Temple as a whole, but there are strong factions in the Northside Historic District and Western Temple.

There is not a soul that meets me that doesn't know where I land on the political or spiritual side of things, but I'm not losing friends(souls) over it.
