This one is a stick shift. I drive a lot and was looking for something with a manual transmission to shake things up every once in a while. Not many out there. Thought about ordering one this past 2 years and decided to look around. Picked this one up used with 12,000 miles on it.

It barks nicely going into third...

Nice car and great to see some still driving manual's. I like the color and performance.

As an engineer I can agree that in today's age there is zero practical reason to drive a manual. I was born in the 70's and when first driving it was valid to say a manual could be faster performing and get better gas mileage, less maintenance and more reliable too. That is no longer necessarily the case.

However, it is engaging and feels fun - to some of us anyway, perhaps based on your age and driving history. I've had many manuals over the years but around 2019 I thought maybe I was done having one as a daily driver and went auto. I had a few autos as daily drivers before, mostly SUV's - never had a auto sedan, was always a manual sedan guy. But starting 2019 I went 5 years with auto sedans as dailies and had a couple cheap manual 2 door's over that time for weekend drives. Last year I went back to a manual sedan and thought maybe I would regret it, but I've enjoyed it and no regrets. Just commuting or putting around I don't even notice it's a manual, it's a brainless activity after so many years of driving. But if trying to drive fast and have fun, I do appreciate the engaging video game feel of a manual still. I know it is slower than the auto version of the same car and gets worse gas mileage to boot.

Enjoy your car!

Yeah, its been fun so far. I turned off all the automatic doodads that "help" you drive a manual, especially the traction control, lol. There is no handbrake, just the automatic parking brake like on my F150. There is a stop sign on an incline in the hill country I drive through and the car automatically stops the roll back, so no worries there. I still wish it was a handbrake and not the computer.

My Elantra N has a handbrake, but FWD - I'll trade you the handbrake for your RWD.

100%, sensor to make sure it's in neutral I believe and the bypass switches from a brake switch to a clutch switch.

Option is not available on my app or my key fob. Gotta old school cook when getting into it in this summer heat.

Congrats OP.

Same thing - I've dailied nothing but manuals since I was in undergrad.

I'm at zero problems with the clutch or transmission on my '00 Celica GT-S but since buying it (new) I think my dad replaced the transmission twice in his old ('03) Suburban and had problems with the one in his late '10s Yukon as well. Original clutch btw.

Of course, excellent choice OP!
