Just ordered a Lomax stance on my Tundra and am looking at getting a carpet bed liner. Any recommendations? I've heard Bed Rugs are good but a little pricey.

I have a Bed Rug and don't have any complaints. I've had it three years and it seems to have held up well. I purchased it from Luke at Truck Alterations.

No recommendations and don't mean to hijack… but can someone help me understand this use of a truck's bed? Seems like it just turns into a big trunk.

Bed cover with carpet basically means no actual truck bed usage (and need for an over the rails watertight cover), right? Do you just pull a trailer anytime you need firewood, or a load of mulch or dirt, or lumber, or other similar products? Or do you just take it all out when you need that?

My dad has a Bed Rug in his F150. His truck isn't a work truck but is more of a highway cruiser. He's not hauling hay or tossing muddy boots and farm tools in the bed. He's making HEB and Costco runs. The Bed Rug keeps his truck bed looking nice and the BakFlip keeps it water tight and dry.

When he does go to Home Depot for mulch or lumber or plants, he just tosses them in the bed like he normally would but then vacuums the rug when he's done. He's in his mid-70s and has always been a neat freak.

It works very, very well for him and keeps his almost 9 year old truck looking darn near brand spanking new, just how he wants it.

I look at it as giving more flexibility. I don't have the bed rug, but I do have a bed cover. I actually threw a moving blanket in the bed recently and kind of like it so have just left it haha

But we take my truck on road trips because the cabin is large and comfortable, especially since we can put all our luggage in the bed and not have to worry about rain, etc. During baseball season I leave the stroller back there for hauling the little one around the fields.

Then last week I folded up the bed cover to haul a load of furniture to the dump then pick up lumber and on the way home.

I don't think most people are looking at these bed "carpets" as something that can never get dirty. More as something that helps prevent stuff from sliding around and somewhat protects the bed from getting dinged and scratched to hell.

Like a previous poster, carpet probably isn't the best term although they do resemble carpet. Most are moisture resistant and can be easily washed off. That being said, I do primarily use my truck bed as a big trunk, and will be doing even more so when my first little one arrives.
