2025 GMC 1500 AT4 in a pretty gray color, diesel

Bought online and delivered to our house. The online place also took our old 2012 Ford F-150 in blue as a trade in.

My credit is better than his, so I'm a co-owner

Why did he need a new truck?

On Father's Day weekend he was driving back home from traveling for work and some meth head pulled out in front of him while he was driving down the highway at 70+ mph. It totaled his less than 1 year old truck (2024 GMC 1500 AT4 in a pretty red color, diesel). Since he (basically) walked away with only bruising, he wanted the same thing again, but in a different color.

New Truck

Wrecked Truck

Bonus! Traded-in Truck

Prefer the new color to old, looks nice.

Did these also get the updated 3.0l diesel in 2025, like the SUV's?

Thank you! I am a fan too!

I had no idea what that meant, but I googled and from what I can tell, the 2024 already had the 3.0L Duramax turbo-diesel and the 2025 has the same.

There was an LM2 version of the 3.0L Duramax and then an updated LZ0 version.

It looks like your 2024 Sierra already had the LZ0 so you have the same version of the diesel in the 2025. For the Tahoes and Yukons, they didn't get the LZ0 until 2025.

Thank you for the article!

I actually read it all - important since I am a co-owner (I wasn't a co-owner on the red one)

ANNND I mostly understood it haha

He has not cut any left turns lately, or at least not when driving me around.

If he did, I would just remind him that TexAgs AND reddit both said he was criminally wrong

Congratulations on castrating your husband with the credit barb. That had nothing to do with this post other than to toot your own horn.

I was thinking that why wouldn't you put it in his name and build credit if that's the situation. In either case, probably a bad purchase if credit was an issue in the first place. Nice looking truck though

Apologies - I wasn't clear in the original post - we both have very good credit scores and mine at the time was like maybe 10 points higher, but both in the same "credit score range".

Sorry for the bad joke.

Thank you!

Credit scores were not an issue - we both have very good credit, mine at the time was like maybe 10 points higher - I'm sure next week his will be 10 points higher than mine and he will rub it in my face LOL

Bad joke, my apologies - guess my humor doesn't translate well on the internet

Great looking truck, OP. Have to have thick skin to post on this site sometimes. No need to apologize for anything.

Lighten up Francis!

Our first new vehicle purchase out of college was completely in my wife's name. She had a job and credit. I had neither because I was substitute teaching while waiting for my slot at the Armor Officer Basic Course at Fort Knox.

$28,800 for a new 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo V8 4x4
(side note - wound up putting 225,000 miles on it and would still have it if we hadn't moved to Australia and sold it for cash to some meth head in The Inland Empire)

It was probably 1995 when the Driver in my Tank crew shows up to National Guard Drill with a brand new Toyota 4 Runner that he coincidentally bought for $28,000. He was two weeks younger than me and he worked as a school janitor so I knew he couldn't possibly have saved enough, or be earning enough to pay for that expensive of a vehicle in 1995 dollars.

That was my first introduction to an 84 month loan.

Anyway, a decade later, when it was time to buy a $700k house in SoCal, that was done completely in my name because I was the one with a job and credit. Not a brag but a necessity and believe me, it took some major manning up to sign on that dotted line.

Some people's spouses are at different stages. And sometimes those roles can flip. She didn't say her husband was a dirtbag.

$8,000

Online offers from Carmax for $7,000, Carvana for $6,000, and I wanna say Autotrader was around the same.

I don't mind sharing - I can get those numbers and do that later tonight.

Likely got an average deal, so don't get your hopes up on being impressed LOL

Looking at this, I am not sure what you mean by "out the door", but here are some approximate prices from the purchase agreement -

Window sticker price: $73k
Advertised price: +$69k
GMC Loyalty Cash: -$2.5k
GMC Purchase Allowance: -$2.75k
Approximate price: $63,750

Delivery charge: +$1.6k

Probably overpaid on the following
+"optional" accessories
+fancy finish
+document/title/registration fees

If I way overpaid or got royally screwed over - don't tell me because I can't change it now, let me live in ignorance haha, I will come here next time I need a new car (hopefully not for a very long time)
