What's the best large SUV on the market right now? I.e. Ford Expedition Max, Yukon Xl, Jeep Wagoner and the sort.

I know the 6.2 for GM has issues but is their diesel worth it?

Biggest consideration is fitting dogs and kid and camping stuff so need plenty of room, also we normally keep vehicles for a long time so want something that lasts.

3.0L Diesel Burb or Yukon XL.

For the price per feature's & reliability? Armada.

Size of a Tahoe, so not quite XL.

The new Nissan Armada and Infiniti version actually look great and have a very proven powertrain.

Do the at4 models suspension still feel like mush or do they ride pretty well?

We have an explorer now and the tahoe/expidition base don't really seem all that bigger. So definitely looking xl.

Really wish Ford would bring back the excursion and had the long wb version of that.

Yeah that isn't happening with all the current CAFE standards

Just get an old excursion. They are still awesome.

I thought we just ditched all that under Trump.

Well I almost didn't post that because that thought crossed my mind. Wasn't sure if he actually was able to get rid of them.

Sorry if bad info!

I picked the Suburban for the most interior cargo room. I opted for the 5.3 because it had minimal issues compared to the 6.2. The acceleration isn't that bad but then again my reference for bad acceleration is a 5th gen 4runner.

He killed all that with EOs but it remains to be seen if auto manufacturers will retool. The next Democrat will simply put it all back in place so they have to make a bet here.

Yeah haven't pushed through the epa to actually repeal. Most I see in near turn may be the factory delete options and tuning changes that disable start stop and such.

Whats the deal with the wagoneers? Can get a decently equipped one for cheaper than the other big 2.

Also when would be the best time to buy since we are not in a hurry

It's a Chrysler product. They're discounting Ram trucks heavily too.

I'm pretty sure they have the most reliability issues of all the full-size SUVs. They devalue like they're running a race to the bottom as well. I had one as a rental earlier this year and I really liked it but I'm not buying a Chrysler product. I thought the size was just right because it's bigger than a mid-size and I don't need something the size of a Suburban. Maybe by the time I need to buy another vehicle Toyota will have worked all the kinks out on the Sequoia.

Nissan switched the Armada to 6 cylinder with turbos just like Toyota. Wouldn't call it proven just yet. Not in the brand new ones.

I don't see why not. Just drop in the current line up of 6.7L and Godzilla. It would be classified as a HD truck for CAFE compliance anyway, right? The only issue is safety. The original had a 3x rollover fatality rate compared to the Expedition.

Expedition max owner here.

We love it. Lots of room, plenty of power, and easy to drive.

The wife loved the 360 cameras, for parking lot maneuvering and putting it in the garage.

We rented a Ford Transit Passenger van a couple of months ago in Colorado. It had XLT level trim with a 3.5 Ecoboost. It was all-wheel drive as well. Really nice ride with lots of room. You should check it out before making your decision.

All 4 of my kids are grown with families of their own. Everywhere we went included at least two dogs as well. We have owned a custom van, a Surburban and a Yukon XL. If I still needed that much room and cargo space I would consider a Ford Transit. I think it is rated to tow at least 10,000 lbs as well.
So the greatest civilization is one where all citizens are equally armed and can only be persuaded, never forced. It removes force from the equation... and that's why carrying a gun is a civilized act.

We have a 2022 wagoneer with the 5.7. No issues outside of a few recalls early on. 60k miles and still holding up. Still really like it and hoping to drive it for a long time.

Depreciation on it sucks so we're just going to keep it until the wheels fall off.

A coworker just bought a new Wagoneer two weeks ago and has been back to the dealership four times. One of those times it had to be towed there.

Sucks. If you buy from a "wagoneer certified dealership" you get a wagoneer loaner.

It made any recall or warranty issues easy peasy.

Not saying it's the best option of the class but the 5.3 and 6.2 lifter issue is very concerning. Prices over MSRP.

I'm a huge proponent of the 3.0 diesels but there's only like 15 in DFW market within 100 miles. They're still unicorns. My dad loves his in his Denali XL. 25+ mpg on the highway.

If Toyota hadn't messed up the 3rd row/cargo area of the Sequoia, I'd have already bought one.

I know why it occurred because they stuck the hybrid battery back there, but not having a fold flat 3rd row in this segment is just not competitive as I use my cargo area a lot.

Married? Since when? A belated congrats bud!

And we have a 22 Limited that's been great so far, had 21k when we got it. Other than the 2+ months it was at Ford due to a few software bugs. Had to get Ford corporate and their engineers involved, only to find out it was a corrupted file from a bad OTA previously. Oh well, that's life.

Absolutely love my Yukon except the times I don't. There are some basic features that are known issues to everyone except GM. Basic features, such as the CLOCK, do not work in my vehicle. Onstar, WiFi, all the "free" stuff that is required to keep your software up to date, does not function.

My vehicle isn't even under the recall and I have random issues where it simply won't drive at all. Yesterday morning I was able to start my car, watch all kinds of warnings cycle through on my dash and once that happened and I was able to put my vehicle in reverse it simply didn't move at all. I could rev my engine all I wanted but that b**** was parked.

This was my final straw and I'll be actively looking for something else this weekend.

This is a 2023 with 52k miles.

Are these issues with the Chevy ones as well. I know they are essentially the same vehicle underneath with a different skin on top.

I'm honestly not sure. Coincidentally a lot of my friends drive Yukons and are also having issues.

My wife's yukon had a bunch of warnings/service notifications pop up last week with the exact same miles. She called the service department and he told her "without you even bringing it in, I can almost for certain say your battery is starting to go out.". New battery, no more warnings and good as new.

I have a 2020 Expedition Max purchased new in Nov '20 and built in Sept'20 so hopefully after the cam phaser issue was resolved. No problems so far with the 10 speed transmission. Great on the highway and space for kids and stuff.

I drove a 2001 E150 Passenger Ford van for over 19 years. A tank with the most volume of space over any max SUV. I tried a new 150 Transit in 2020 but it had a drivetrain shudder that Ford could not figure out. The seats are removable but difficult for even two people to do but again the most volume of space you can get . The Transits do have 3 heights and 3 lengths so a lot of space and head height.

I know there is the 1ags hookup for Ford vehicles but is there a contact for the Yukons?

Also is there any negotiation on them now? Or is the price the price. Because if that's the case how hard is it to order a 26 and when would we get it.

People like Laura, but I think APTs son works at Sewell GmC in the plex.

Most popular large SUV by a mile. I've seen lots of the 2025s around. That new green in the AT4 is slick.

Yeah there is a 6.2l at4 at the dealer near us so we are going to look at it to see the color.

Is there contact for Laura?

Should add in the Houston Area. Not sure if that matters for some of the ordering, can travel if that's the only way
