We have a '22 Model Y LR that has 255/45/19 Have any of you replaced the originals with a tire without the foam?

We are considering the Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 -- replacing the OEM Continental ProContact RX (with foam).

Hoping we don't take too big of a hit on road noise. Or is the foam thing just another scam?

If road noise is a concern, you may be choosing the wrong tire. I don't have experience with either tire but Tire Rack has a nice test article:

I believe these are the Tire Rack links for each tire you're considering:

I don't drive a ton of miles and wasn't looking for the absolute best. A Tesla used car dealer suggested Lexani EV. I checked into them and gave them a try. Been happy with them for a couple weeks. About $650 installed at wal mart.

Thanks!

But that's not good to see, the #2 on that list, the Continentals, is exactly what we have (OEM) had since day 1, and I thought they sucked!

Had the Yokohamas, and they were pretty good for noise and efficiency, bought into the hype of the hankook ion evos, they were a lot more expensive for almost as good performance as the Yokohamas.

Right now I'm on discount tire phantom hrx. Probably the quietest tire I've had, but I lost some efficiency. Though, worth it as they were a lot cheaper and I can charge for free at work anyway

I have a 23 model Y LR but with 20 inch wheels. I just got a new set of michelin defender 2, and I do not notice any noise difference. I moved up to 255/45r20 (oem is 255/40r20) and I've noticed a smoother ride and improved efficiency. I have about 700 miles on them. I think foam is overhyped for the additional cost..
