While the wife's 4Runner gets fixed, we've borrowed an '02 Suburban from her family. The first day we had it, she rolled the window down and it wouldn't come back up. I took apart the door and found the sheaths for the window regulator cables had rotted out. I got a new regulator installed, but now up is down and down is up with the switches. I double checked, and everything is installed correctly because it only goes one way. My thinking is the regulator cables were maybe backwards or something. Can I just cut the wires to the motor and flip them to reverse the polarity?
