Been driving F350 diesel for the last 4 years. Good truck and pulls 34' RV great. Gonna look at the equivalent Chevy next week.

What are your Pros and Cons of each?

TIA

My 2023 Duramax with 84k is a giant pos, which is sad because I traded in my reliable 2016 Duramax with 200k on it to buy the turd.

I'm on my second transmission, second turbo, second emissions system, and had to drop it off at the dealer a few weeks ago because it got stuck in regen mode but wasn't regenerating so they had to force it multiple times because the dpf (which was new 10k miles ago) was too clogged up. They told me to stop idling so much….. Which is the point of owning a diesel….?

Even though it's my small business vehicle my wife is tired of it and is demanding we replace it when the warranty runs out.

I can't trust it to pull our camper so I bought a 2005 8.1 Suburban for that job.

Very disappointing. I'd stick with the Powerstroke.

I put 200k on a '15 power stroke no issues except one front hub replacement.

Then 200k on a gas Chevy 2500 no issues except one exhaust manifold bolt.

The diesels from both are now so expensive I decided to try a Ram again was able to get into a laramie for cheaper than a diesel Chevy or ford with cloth seats with room to buy a 150kmile bumper to bumper factory warranty. The new ZF 8 speed in the Ram is nice and worth a look.

Idling is a no-no with the new emissions systems. I know, totally counter to the old diesels.

I still see people get out at the store and leave a new diesel idling in the parking lot for long stretches of time

I had 5600 idle hours on my 19 ram before emissions issues. New systems may be more sensitive so maybe that's not possible anymore
