My 84 yr old mom's '17 kia sorento has been burning oil for a few months and mechanic is telling her to go to Kia and see if she qualifies for a new engine. Anyone have experience with this process? Are they going to fight us tooth & nail?
She wants another car anyway and wondering what the best process would be. We were curious to see what Carvana or carmax would offer and they were around $8-9k. Similar cars on auto trader are going for around 13-15k. I assume those cars don't have engine problems.
Thank you for the advice!

Might be worth a try for you. I switched all the cars over to Valvoline Restore and Protect in the spring. It has made a huge difference in my 2003 F250. I don't drive it much because it has a V10 and gets 11mpg. It is now noticeably quieter when I start it and it seems to run smoother. Short trips are very rough on oil, and If your mom doesn't live out in the country I'm going to guess that's mostly what she does.
