that sounds bonkers for that high of mileage unless it's a cream puff

I purchased a 4Runner at 160k miles for $17K. Had the brakes & rotors done on the front. $17.6K all in. It runs like a vehicle with only 50K miles on it.

It's up to you how much you're willing to spend. But the 4Runner and GX will run to 300k with basic maintenance. So you're looking at spending $20K for 120k more miles. That's the math I would be doing. For me, I wanted a vehicle with very little maintenance. If you go high mileage…the 4Runner , GX are hard to beat for an SUV.

Talking about this one? https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/1090a225-d1d8-43d4-be0b-ce15822cd84e/

I was looking for comparables to answer your question, I'm guessing that's the one you are looking at due to year and mileage and one owner. Only 2 service records in Carfax, do they have a paper trail with the vehicle? One owner is good, and price did seem comparable to other Luxury trims with 100k+ miles.

How do you intend to use the vehicle? 20K mile a year daily driver? Kid vehicle? 3rd vehicle in the family for the occasional road trip?

$20k sounds a little high, but they are incredibly reliable and hold their value really well.

For a point of reference, I have a 2017 GX Premium, but it only has 80k miles. We're considering getting my wife a new vehicle, so we got offers on all of our vehicles to see which one made the most sense to trade in. Carmax and a Lexus dealership both offered around $28k for mine.

Also, if you're not hung up on getting the Luxury trim...you should be able to get a GX Premium Trim for less than and 4Runner Limited with similar mileage on them.

Personally, I'd be targeting a GX460 Premium.

I don't think I would ever buy a vehicle with 182k miles, regardless of brand.
