Mostly my phone has superb navigation, superb audio, far more app choices, is far more reliable and easy to upgrade than any vehicle system I have dealt with. I really just want to clock my phone into my car and have a dumb display mirror my phone. I know a few of them can sort of do that but not as reliably as one might think. I mostly though, I really don't want to pay for all the in vehicle display and software when I already have a better more powerful personal device that can do everything needed.

Based on what auto manufacturers are telling us, you may lose that option in future with their push towards "mandatory" nav/info systems. They want your data out of CarPlay and Android's app and in their car's computers instead.

Can't pass up a passive revenue stream mining our data after we paid them $85k for an overpriced car full of features no one wants.

Sounds like an in car ad/tracking blocker that integrates via canbus is going to be a ripe product for development in a few years.

My god.

I owe like $20K on a 2025 Accord and feel like it's too much. At least wife's Tahoe is paid off. No other debt though (minus mortgage) so $430/mo for a car payment isn't too bad in the grand scheme of things.

I hate you for posting that.

$128k in debt and still going to disney?

I technically have ~$3500 on a Macy's card for furniture, but it was a 48 month deal of no interest. I pay each month and will have it done probably in 3 years. Although I could pay it off today if I wanted; hey, it's free money.

That video makes me feel better but wholely like...WTF man!?!

We drive a '13 Lexus bought in '19 that now has 94k miles and a '14 Volt bought in '16 that now has 110k miles.

So i got bored and did the reverse calculations.

$60k, $1200 a month

5 years - 7.7% interest
84 month - 17.5% interest

That video is the vast majority of Americans. So, you should feel better about yourself.

Go watch every Caleb Hammer YouTube episode that features Disney adults. They are all unhinged.

I know a couple who were doing their Master's before the husband started his PhD. They had student loan debt and some recent medical debt and decided to finance a trip to Disney after graduation because "they deserved it".

They rail against anything conservative politically and are vocal about wanting more student loan relief and more social programs that redistribute wealth.

I don't feel so bad about my own financial decisions reading some of this stuff. Not rich but no debt. Pretty decent retirement savings and what not.

Just bought my wife a 2027 X-Line SX Prestige Telluride and paid cash for it. There's a few of us out here that are still good with money.
