Looking to put a lift and decrease the rake on my '26 King Ranch F-150. Never done a lift before.

Questions:

Are Bilstein 5100s still the recommended struts?

I tow a 26' camper very rarely, but would like to keep a bit of rake for that and fuel economy. Any thoughts on the ideal rake to go with?

I'm currently running the stock 275/60/ R20s. I really like the Michelin Defender LTXs and was wondering what size I should go with. Would prefer to keep the stock wheels.

Lastly, anyone have a rec for someplace to get all this done in Houston?

Thanks!
Silvy

You could also just remove the rear blocks or change the shackles. In either scenario, I wouldn't change tire size if you're wanting to maintain fuel economy.

5100 or 6112 is the go to.

I put 6112 /5160 on my 23 F150 PB and it sat very nicely.

I prefer Eibach Pro Stage 2 to Bilstein. Way better ride, IMO.

I had the 5100's on my 2016 F150 Lariat FX4. Leveled out the truck nicely. Rode great for 160,000+ miles…

Bought a 2025 F150 Lariat FX4 - I haven't been able to find the 5100's…. Everyone I call says out of stock/backorder…

Was looking at the 6112's but afraid they will be too stiff/harsh. Don't plan on going larger tire just want the truck level.

I've got a guy in Cypress for the install if I can find the 5100's…

Did you keep stock wheels/tires or go larger? Was also looking at the Eibach…

I kept the stock wheels which are the 18". I've got 285/70R18 Falken Wildpeaks.

The tests are performed on a Tacoma, but these guys do a pretty good job showing the plusses and minuses of various shocks for different types of driving using blind tests.

Also, I am not sure about for Fords, but for the Tacoma, using the 6112s up front, you can use a 600# spring which is the stock version or a 650# spring if you have more weight up front. There might be a lighter spring you can use on the 6112s for the Fords if you are worried about it being too harsh, but while they ride firmer than stock on the Tacoma, I don't know anybody who has them that is unhappy with how they ride on the highway.

If you are buying the parts yourself, look on walmart online and search with the specific part number you know you need. I just bought 6112s, replacement 650# coils, new KYB top hats for the shocks, and Icon RXT leafs for the rear a few weeks ago, and nobody else was close to Walmart's prices.
