Trading in the 2500 for a 3500. Few questions

Does anyone have a Denali ultimate on their lot? Looking for white, MUST be a long bed.

Is spending a little more for the denali ultimate worth it versus going with the high country?

Any other input is appreciated

The transmission for one isn't a pile of hot garbage.

Other than that, not much different. I do think the Ram seats are more comfortable than the GM twins are.

The engine is not old school reliable Cummins, and hasn't been for some time so that comparison is out the window. The Tesla sized 14" screen is pretty neat, makes reading the map much easier on the eyes at a glance.

I used to think GM rode better, but with coils on all four corners on the Ram, it rides a lot better than I expected.

I rented every version of heavy duty trucks before I purchased. Single wheel, drw, 3/4, 1 ton, all brands. I considered where I haul to most frequently and how each truck did. Gm-most comfortable interior for me, towing was least enjoyable. Ram-pulled most effortlessly, small back seat compared to the others. Ford-best cabin size for working out of utilizing the back seat, pulled well. What ultimately made my decision was that of all the long beds, the ford f 450 had a better turning radius than every other one including short beds 2500s, by a lot. Working in stadiums and facilities with tight quarters, this was a no brainer for me. Just consider where you go most often and how you drive most long/ short, crew, solo, length of truck and trailer. The answers sort themselves out pretty quick when you think about the daily usage and what you face most often.

For a working vehicle I would go with the High Country. I never thought it looked good to pull up to a customer in a super expensive vehicle. You obviously want something nice cause you spend a lot of time in it, but not something that makes them wonder exactly how much money you are making off of them. Go with the nicest trim level that doesn't seem flashy.

My opinion on this is worth exactly what you paid for it.

That trim would be the Lariat in a Ford.

High country is all chromed out and the top line Chevy trim.

My coworker has a 3/4 ton high country. Only way to tell it is nice on the inside is the little high country badge on the tailgate. Not all chromed or flashy. His is a few years old now, so I suppose they may have gone a different direction recently.

I had this thought and this advice is pushing me towards a high country I have lined up.

Its also not 100 grand which eliminates some of my heartburn with this purchase.

good advice, thankfully I dont have very many tight corners to contend with. Its all very open job sites and industrial areas. for customers that do have site constraints in their yard, they'll send their machine to me to unload

For the amount that these trucks are going for, just buy an International M2 106 Summit Hauler. You'll get a better engine and have the torque to pull most anything you want.
Can't decide if I want to be cute & cuddly, or go blow some sh*t up.
Decisions decisions.

Once GVWR gets over 10,500lbs, some state laws and insurance triggers can be hit as the vehicle gets into commercial weight loads.

This is why when you build trucks online it'll sometimes show a "10k GVWR package", they do that strictly to lower the sticker rating on it.

For example, a Ford Tremor f250 is mechanically a f350 but has been derated on the sticker.

Mine is rated to have 3k # of payload. But mechanically, it's closer to 4k.
