My truck got a fair amount of hail damage Monday night. Maybe 10 dings on the hood, many more on the roof and a few on the upper parts of the doors and bed.

Are modern repair methods going to erase all of this? 90% ? Or will my truck just have a nice texture moving forward?

Modern PDR (paint-less dent repair) should be able to fix you up, unless the dents are too big, or on a tricky spot.

Might be worth getting an estimate from one, before filing with insurance. If it's only a dozen dents or so, the cost to repair might not reach your deductible...but if so, you can always file after you get the estimate.

I don't know where you're located, but if you're in the Austin area, I can suggest a great dude who does really good work. I've used him for a few cars in the past, and you'd never know they had dents.

Following as I also have some dents on my hood, Sugar Land area. I thought I researched a crew that does work for Mercedes of Sugar Land, Dent Dawgs, or something like that, but I haven't reached out yet.

If you're seeing a dozen you likely have double that once under the right lighting or lack of lighting. I highly recommend The Dent Guy. Derek the owner is a great person and I've used him across multiple stores. His team is top notch.

I've had two trucks that sustained a ton of damage. To the point I thought they would have to replace the hood and multiple panels. It looked like I parked on a driving range for a month.

You'll be amazed what they can repair. I could never find a spot when they were done with PDR.

I second this… Matt Moore is really good at his craft and a great guy. Tell him Dan Moran says hi.

We have an old 2015 Sequoia that got a LOT of dents from a hail storm during a vacation road trip. We just did the ones you could see. The roof is too high to see and there were a ton of dents up there. The car had already depreciated down to the point where the cost to do the dents nobody will see was not worth it.

This was our car after a hail storm in Wimberly, two years ago. We were able to drive it home to League City, but Galveston County had a hail storm the day after we got home. Car was in the body shop for three months due to backlog. Insurance only covered a rental for 30 days. Nightmare dealing with Liberty Mutual. Repairs went well. Modern methods did the job- just took forever.

Classic collision of hwy 21 in Bryan…. Their PDR guys did a fantastic job on my car that looked like a Titelist last March. It wasn't cheap, the windshield was something like 3 grand alone, but I only paid my deductible and it came out looking showroom new.
