Been doing some stretches (BSW has a decent Muscle &Joint care and have had 2 video appt, where I got the stretches from).

The in person appt with the sports medicine Dr, was not productive. Seemed like he didn't care, and didn't really give me an opportunity to ask questions (when I tried asking about surgery and what kind of timeline if I went that route, he said once it went surgery route he had no clue and he'd be out of the picture).

So one is doing any hands on treatment to restore your motion? Any strengthening exercises you are working on?

Havent done anything in person. Money is a little tight, another reason I want to avoid surgery.

Anything strengthening has been with bands at home or cables at the gym. Mostly row based movements.

Really starting to get into it right now. Wanted to give some rest time. I know the constant bowling probably wasn't the best for the shoulder.

Keep at it. The shoulder will let you know what it doesn't like. The traction created by bowling on the shoulder is tough honestly. I really like the content in this video. You can start with some of the recommended exercises.

Thank you sir.

Surprisingly up until this Jan when I felt something while stretching when I woke up in the morning, bowling really didn't give me to many issues with the shoulder. Just some inflammation and soreness if I did a lot of bowling in a day.

Of course this go around I would get very acutely pain in the ant delt area that would radiate out, but go away after a fewish minutes. Mostly when I would quickly have my arm outstretched, out catching a door to hold open at the last 2nd. Really went downhill with the range of motion stuff in mid/late March, came down with some sort of sickness (thinking it was the new strain of COVID) which threw my BS and diabetes out of wack. Also, started to lose endurance in the arm/shoulder for bowling.

OH! My turn!

I have lower-right back pain, sounds a lot like the description of sciatica. I got an MRI yesterday after I saw an ortho. Report shows:

* L1-L2: 1-2mm bulge, mild right foraminal narrowing
* L2-L3: 2-3mm bulge, mild right foraminal narrowing
* L3-L4: 2-3mm bulge, moderate narrowing of both foramina
* L4-L5: 2mm bulge, severe left foraminal narrowing

Context: I'm in my early 40s, used to weigh 250lbs, now down to 175 (since Dec.). I lift weights 3x/week, cycle (stationary bike) 7x/week. 8k steps/day. Work a desk job. I eat clean, count calories, watch macros, eat 200g of protein.

Should I be worried? I don't know what to expect when I follow up with my ortho on Tues. I know PT, core work, and maybe injections are likely on the table. I'm scared of surgery in the future. Not sure what to expect otherwise, or what the future for pain and mobility looks like.

From an exercise standpoint, and without knowing your lifting routine, the things that stand out to me are -stationary bike 7x/week and desk job. Sounds like you need to diversify your cardio training and focus on mobility. But again, without knowing you or your routine, it's hard to be more specific.

Curious your thoughts on what the potential injury could be. I haven't seen anybody yet to get opinions.

About mid June I was jumping rope and felt my calf area( right below where the "ball" of the calf muscle is) have a sharp pain I'd probably put around 6 on the pain scale. Never had any swelling, coloring, etc and could still walk/jog although it was sort of uncomfortable. I never lost full range of motion and still have it.

I basically stopped doing any kind of leg workouts or cardio besides light stationary bike but haven't been able to heal whatever this is. Doesn't bother me day to day that much unless I sit for too long or get up the middle of the night and it just feels tight. After I take a few steps it feels stretched out and sort of normal again.

I assume some kind of calf strain but surprised it's taking this long to heal. 38 y/o male, normal bmi, pretty active 5 days a week.

Appreciate the time you take answering questions for everyone!

A few years ago, I developed pretty bad knee tendinitis while training for a half. Went to PT and they thought the issue was I didn't have enough strength/muscle development around the knee to properly support it.

Now, I've been doing CrossFit for the last 8 months and have begun experiencing similar pain in the same knee. It's really only aggravated when squatting with weight (air squats, dead lifts, cleans don't hurt). I got a compression sleeve and it actually hurts worse with compression.

Which tendon? Have you had an imaging?

No idea, never went to a dr but it hurts right in the center of my kneecap, same as when I was running (maybe 2 years ago?).

I fractured my ulna styloid process and my radius last Friday. Both frqctures are apparently mild but I'm supposed to get a cast next week.

Is it a good idea to try typing normally right now? Or should I wait for some healing first?

Thanks.

I may have to start watching tv again.

Do you still make it to many games at A&M?
