My sister, Lauri, was recently diagnosed with a glioblastoma brain tumor. It was a gut punch to say the least. She has been a runner most of her adult life, a picture of what we thought was perfect health. Then, the rug was pulled out from under her and is now undergoing treatment at The Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke University. They host an annual 5K fundraiser for research, Angels Among Us Walk and 5K for HOPE. This year it will be April 25. We have formed a team, Lauri's Solemates, and plan to participate virtually as a team. If your life has ever been touched by this horrible diagnosis for someone you know or love, you know the helplessness that comes along with it.
