How long do you want to ignore this user?

I am gonna have an anatomic shoulder replacement next month…Any tips on any pre and post operation things to do and not to do? Thanks in advance!

I have tons of questions... I'm in my mid 50s and need a new one myself. Doc told me to wait it out as long as possible. Doesn't really want to touch me until I'm 65.

Age range?
I was told when diagnosed that shoulder replacement, unlike knee and hip, is a one and done thing and only lasts around 15 years - same for you?
What have you done for relief?

I'm getting closer to the point of saying f it. I can hardly eat, brush my teeth, etc. with my dominant hand anymore.

You probably know this as I would guess you have been suffering for awhile, but pillows are your best friend whilst trying to sleep.

Having had multiple arm surgeries, buttons and zippers are not your friend. I bought a couple of pairs of old man jeans with an elastic band. Would recommend.

My doc told me that originally and then on my next appointment he had some conversations to go ahead and get it done…I am 57 so I am gonna bite the bullet and get it done…I have been getting injections for the past few years for the pain along with ibuprofen when that wears off.

This is my right shoulder and I am left handed so not having somewhat of the issues you are having but still sleeping can be a pain sometimes…my issue is if move a certain way or reach out for something it really freaking hurts and it pops all the time.

I like to play golf too so that can be a pain in my side too!

Im a few years younger than you. Been dealing with it for going on 9 years now. I tried the shot one time. Was great for about 2 hours and then wore off. It is funny, a half inch in my arm position could mean the difference between pain or not.

What is yalls root problem? Is it the cartilage is just gone? I was having right shoulder issues so I transitioned to only incline press for now (really because my back hurts so a normal bench arch hurts) and the pain, and weakness in certain positions, omis gone.

My labrum is gone. My bone spurs have bone spurs and are constantly causing ulcers which turn into more bone spurs.

I have issues just reaching out for something…This is where I feel most of the pain and my shoulder popping a lot doesn't help either…My joint is just wore out plus arthritis…I am ready to get this done and over with.
