No Soros DA in 1836, so he wasn't released back onto the Houston streets that quickly.

He was detained for three weeks, and had to post a surrender treaty, quit the field and agree to lobby for Texas independence before being paroled. He later violated the terms of his parole and sent another army into Texas, but that's a story for another time.
