A) The lack of LB depth
B) The inability to play zone defense. (Pretty much the same personnel from last years team he threw under the bus)
C) DL that lost 3 draft picks.

My biggest concern is pass coverage and the pass rush !

A) our top 3 LBs in terms of tackles return.
B) Elko said he would take care ofvthe defense so not too concerned
C) very disapointed in our DL last year

IMO out of the three you gave, I would be most concerned about B.

A) I like our linebacker group, not completely sure about depth, but in the transfer portal age, it's hard to tell until during the season.

B) I think this comes down to coaching. Can Elko handle the defense better this year and have them better prepared. I like our DBs, hoping they can make a jump.

C) Not completely sure how I feel about our Dline. I'm maybe concerned about his unit more than the other two, however it is not because we lost guys to the NFL as those guys didn't do a huge amount here. I'm not expecting the unit to regress.



Outside of that, my biggest concern is the passing game. I was high on our wide receivers before losing Hudson and Thomas. Now I am not sure how I feel. Would like to see a more explosive offense that relies on big pass plays, and would love to see a breakout wide receiver (the kind that you see on sports center, Ryan Williams type).

C and it's not close. I think Elko gets the pass defense back in good terms. Worried about our DL and run defense though.

We only have 3 LBs with any real experience. Period! The # 4 guy played mostly special teams and some mop up duty last year. We are one injury away from not having a backup who has any game experience. Im not sure a 3 man rotation will get us through an SEC season. Hope the freshman is as good as advertised.

Good point. I blamed Klien after the first goal line debacle. Our goal line plays seem to be dumb. Even in the Auburn game.

I'm worried about some of the teams we play on the road. Our team has to compete and execute better to win some of those games.

i am worried about getting to the stadium early enough to slap hands with the team as they get off the bus for Spirit Walk, and then making it to the Quad to watch the Corps step off.

I always worry that i may not leave early enough

I'm more worried about the Curse!

B but they did bring in new people for the secondary. Transfer from Georgia comes to mind but I think there are others. Elko called it out and it won't look good if it isn't significantly improved . Consequently I think it will be an area of focus for the staff.

it is hard to tell how good we might have been over the last few years when we lose our starting qb every year, 2-3 offensive lineman and a whole slew of other players. the last year we were healthy was 2020 the time before that 2012. if we stay healthy i think this team can surprise.

Why worry about the Curse? Just assume it's there until it isn't . Go from there.

The DLine last year was so i furiating.

They really fell off down the stretch and that allowed a lot of big plays on the back end.

Similarly so many busts and big plays given up other than Will Lee.

Last, can Klein put the players in position to get chunks. Can't beat good teams having to go 3.334 yards per play. Got to get big plays and keep defense guessing. We have the play makers, can we get them the ball in space.

Free your mind from worrying about things over which you have no control

With that said - would be nice to see solid coverage

I agree on depth. But i think we will see a different DL this year. Much more multiple versus last year.

Perfect Answer.

Outside of RB, every position group needs to be better.

Elko was not really able to address DL in portal well enough so that is probably biggest area of concern...hope players play better than anticipated and no injuries.

My biggest concern is that my BAS may cause me to end up catotonic after we start the season 8-0, then lose out going 8-5.

Are we just assuming that nobody got better, and do we define players by singular plays? Returning starters is a sure road to success for teams who aren't named bama and Georgia who do it with anyone really.
